We had the good fortune of connecting with Eboni Calloway and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Eboni, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Over time my work life balance has changed by setting boundaries, respecting my work hours, and most importantly, encouraging breaks to reset. I think about the balance by trying to stay productive, while also prioritizing self care and my mental health. Being a person with so much ambition, I would often overwork myself. “No days off” as we all would say. Having a work balance prevents burnouts. The benefits of having that balance is being able to function as your best self, with your best thoughts. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a creator, an artist, or a 9-5 worker, maintaining a work life balance is just as important as the work you do.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Hustle Her LLC is a brand on the rise to building a multi business owned empire with a portfolio of products, services, and investments. Our goal is to make a positive impact in various ways. What sets Hustle Her apart from others is that we stand on providing quality and trustworthy business. Being able to motivate, influence, and help individuals is what I’m most proud of about the brand. Perseverance is how I’ve got to where I’m at today business wise. Of course it wasn’t easy but having confidence in myself, knowing what I didn’t want for my life, and understanding that only I can get in the way of my own success is what helped me overcome the challenges that I faced. All that I’ve accomplished on my own helps me recognize the potential that I have to do so much more. I never allowed my past, my mistakes, my set backs, and the opinion of others define who I am, or who I’m capable of becoming. What I’ve learned along the way is that you don’t have to have it all figured out to start anything that you want to achieve in life. Knowing your worth, the value that you bring and your purpose is enough to take that first step. When I started Hustler Her LLC in 2018 I didn’t know exactly what direction I wanted to go in with the brand. I had a vision of what it could be, I just needed time to figure out how to do it. Perspective is key. “If you tell yourself you can’t, then you’ll find 100 excuses for why you won’t. If you tell yourself you can, then you’ll figure out 100 reasons why you could.” I knew that my ambition, intense work ethic, integrity, discipline, and compassion for others was enough to create a brand that would produce effective results. What I want the world to know about me, my brand and my story is that I kept going no matter what. I don’t care how many times I had to start over, I never ever gave up. Everything that I’ve experienced on my journey contributed to my growth and made me who I am today.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s safe to say that me and my friends are pretty much all the same, so it wouldn’t take much for us to have a great time lol. Ruth Chris Steakhouse is a must no matter what city we’re in. I’m From Harlem New York so if we are going to keep it 100% Harlem with the food options then I would take them to either Dirty Kitchen, Jimbos, Jacobs, Pee Dee’s, Mikes Deli on 138th and 5th Avenue, Hajji’s to get a chopped cheese sandwich, Ricardo’s, or the 24 seafood spot (El Puerto Seafood). If they have a sweet tooth then I’ll take them to Make My Cake Bakery. For drinks and a calm vibe I would probably take us to Fumo or Mama Sushi. A day that’s filled with a bunch of unplanned events always turns out to be the best, so the majority of the trip would consist of spontaneous adventures depending on our mood. In my view, some of the most fun and interesting things to do in New York is check out a Broadway show, go on a Boat Tour, or take a Helicopter ride around the city to get an amazing view of the NYC Skyline.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would like to thank and give a special shoutout to my mother, Lucille Calloway. I wouldn’t be where I am in life if it wasn’t for her unconditional love, support, encouragement, and guidance. Next, I would like to dedicate a shoutout my cousins Kia and Kelli Gore, and my best friend Jasmine Holloway. I love and truly appreciate all of y’all. Thank you
Rest in Peace Auntie Paula and Cheryl Patton
