We had the good fortune of connecting with Dyan Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dyan, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I’d like to think I’ve fully rejected the concept of balance and embraced synergy instead.

Balance implies that all things should be equal, and for me, that is never the case. I spent years trying to balance, family, ambitions, friendships, etc and the reality is that something always tipped the scales in one direction or the other.

Embracing synergy has allowed me to flow in a way that gives energy to the space that is needed most. For example, if I’ve hit a stride at work then I can take more time for my family. Or, if my family’s schedule is flowing well and all things are taken care of I can channel energy towards new ideas. Synergy gives space for the ebb and flows in a way that balance does not, which allows me to bring myself fully into each space I exist in

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love seeing people thrive! Between my endeavors as a creative strategist, realtor, and financial planner- my goal is to help creatives build profitable brands and use those profits to create generational wealth.

I’ve seen firsthand how a lack of clear vision and direction can keep a person from maximizing their potential. I like to help people craft a vision for where they would like to be and create a sustainable road map to get them there!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A great day in the A would look like a visit to Ponce City Market to stroll around and do some exploring on the beltline. Then we’re definitely going for dinner and drinks at Low Country Steaks in midtown. The food is excellent and their drink menu is amazing. I’d finish off the night with a fun night but a horrible score at top golf!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shout-out to my mother. She is also a creative entrepreneur providing makeup and photography services in the Greater Atlanta area. She’s a huge inspiration and my biggest supporter!
