Hi Duwop, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want people to remember that I was a loyal, honest, trustworthy, and hard-working individual.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was born Xavier but everybody knows me as Duwop. I’m from Atlanta, Georgia. Seeing the glamour of fame inspired me to start rapping at a young age. When I let my family and friends listen to my music, they gave me a lot of positive feedback, which made me decide to take my rap career seriously. It definitely hasn’t been an easy journey – I lost my mom in 2019 and that was probably the hardest thing I’ve been through. I know she’s looking down on me and guiding me along the way, but I wish she was here to experience my success with me. When people listen to my music and hear everything I’ve been through I want them to know that life is gonna deal you some sh*t, but you can’t fold! Focus on who you are and who you want to be without trying to be like others, and always stay focused on the goal.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely take them to the strip club, probably King of Diamonds or Onyx. Then grab some lamb chops at Blue Flame or Cheetah Lounge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely my mother and my grandmother
