We had the good fortune of connecting with Dutty Laundry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dutty, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
A slogan I live by is “it may be business but it always personal.” I live by it, I stand by it, I honor it. The industry I’m in its a side hustle for some guys, its just a way to make some extra money for others. For me on the other hand, it’s my passion, I thoroughly enjoy it. I think my clients see this, see my genuine affection and attention for detail, perfection and the love of my craft. When I say “personal” I’m not saying I want to become a best friend, god parent to their baby or anything like that. I’m saying I genuinely care and will give 3000% to making sure their day, that day is the absolute best experience ever. People see genuine, they can read the fake and I think thats why my business is thriving, the brand continues to grow and why they refer me to their friends and families

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a true steward of the DJ game: I have been a mixtape DJ, tour DJ, artist DJ, radio and mix show DJ, club DJ, and now weddings and corporate events DJ. I have done every single genre there is and excelled at it. I have paid my dues time over 1000 and still made time to go to college and attain my BA and MBA, I also have the best wife and kids in the world who fully support what I do. I feel like a kid in a candy store thinking about life, my journey and the amazing people along the way. I am DJ Dutty Laundry, a husband, a father, family man, brother, friend but most important I represent a wonderful wedding community and DJ fraternity, and its an absolute honor to do what I do. I have talked so many times about the negative, the challenges and my journey. It’s time to sit and bask in the moment and enjoy it….I love it, I love what I do, I love my people the other vendors, I love being able to do what I do day in and day out and people truly appreciate me for such an extended period of time in different spectrums. People spend so much time thinking of the brand and repping the brand, I do this for the people, my brand is for the people, “DuttyClub” will be something that couples take pride in and something they aspire to be in

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well for starters we cant do a whole week cause I’m at work on the weekends so hopefully a Mon-Wed deal would be ok. So on Monday we will be touring a few venues like: Howe Farms, Gardens In The Gorge, The Venue Chattanooga, Oakleaf Cottage, and the famous Read House Hotel, which of course thats where they are definitely staying for the week. Chattanooga TN. in my opinion has the best venues and vendors in the country and I 100% mean that. Head to Champys and grab some tamales or fried chicken. Monday sounds like perfection to me Tuesday we are definitely checking out Rock City and Ruby Falls by riding the Lookout Mountain incline. When we get back down Mr T’s Pizza is where its at.
Wednesday we already downtown got to check out our magnificent aquarium, the Imax, Hunter Museum and just be downtown. Grab a bite at Uncle Larry’s for lunch and Agave & Rye for dinner.
Thursday have a safe trip back cause I got to get to work, but make sure and stop at Aretha Frankenstein’s for breakfast…trust me its worth it before ya hit the road

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out all my clients, all my couples the whole #DuttyClub. Every wedding, corporate event, school dance or prom, party may all be what they are. However, every event is different and none are the same. I love my bridal couples and I can say this with a straight face every single wedding I learn something new, something unique, something special, and something I can hold and cherish for the rest of my life. Without them I wouldn’t be able to do this, I wouldn’t be having fun working, and wouldn’t be meeting such amazing people on a weekly basis. This network, this family, this fraternity/sorority called the “DuttyClub” is amazing and I cannot thank them enough for trusting me with one of the biggest moments of their life. Allow me to say it one more time major shoutout to the “DuttyClub,” its all for you.
