Meet Dustin Hodges | Motorsports Team Owner & Marketing Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin Hodges and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dustin, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Willingness to do anything it takes. I learned a long time ago there is no such thing as “my job” and “your job” I have never asked someone to do something I wasn’t willing to do myself.

Also a major factor is passion for the work. Creating a business in an industry which would be a hobby if it wasn’t a career, means it never feels like work. Even when we are looking at 18 hour days, it never feels like work.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Nothing comes easy. And nothing comes without sacrifice. Many people feel they deserve large compensation from their own business from day 1, and many businesses fail. There were times a few years ago where I was literally waiting on an invoice to pay the light bill. Many friends and family pushed me to get a “real job” but i never gave up, knowing deep down that if I stuck with the program – worked longer and harder than my competition – eventually it would be great. A few years later and we are expanding regularly – adding new cars, new haulers, and looking for ground to build a new shop.

Arrive Drive Motorsports set out to fill a need in the motorsports world and now a full time race shop with multiple clients, we are ready to continue to search for new opportunities. We love our arrive and drive clients regardless if they are 1st timers or fighting for a championship.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If any of my friends wanted to visit – I wouldn’t do any normal touristy stuff – even though in knoxville area we have Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. I would schedule a trip to the track. Nothing is more fun than a few days watching exciting, loud racecars while you sit back and enjoy catered lunches in a relaxing environment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Even though he thinks my chosen career is insane, I wouldn’t be where I am without my Father. Jerry was the first to introduce me to racecars at a very young age (something he still apologizes for). Throughout the years he has always supported me in any endeavor.
