Meet Durand Rougeaux | Artist and Model

We had the good fortune of connecting with Durand Rougeaux and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Durand, how do you think about risk?
Honestly I feel like we take risks every single day. Some more than others but at the end of it all your either going to let “risk” stop you from achieving your goal/goals or your going to run straight through that barrier of fear and either preserver or fail and start back over. Risk has been the highlight of my life and what I’m trying to do. Entertainment is always a risk because you’re betting on others to see the same vision as yourself. By believing in myself and knowing my own potential I continue to defeat the odds. I continue to break through barriers every single project every single year.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m still striving to become the artist I would like to become. I’ve learned that you have to have thick skin because people will voice their opinions no matter what and you have to be prepared to sometimes hear those opinions. I want the world to know that despite the challenges that lie ahead I will succeed. It’s going to happen. I’m coming.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m more of a go downtown and let the wind take you type of guy so itineraries are not my thing. I go with the flow

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A few people actually I consider part of my team. My photographer Rashad has been a tremendous help with my portfolio. My engineer which happens to be my twin brother Donnie. My manager Chris Black who has been a big help as well.
