We had the good fortune of connecting with Drew Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Drew, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I believe the biggest habits that help me succeed are consistency and confidence. In my experience consistency over an extended period of time is the best way to achieve a goal. It might not be the shortest or the easiest but its almost like a cheat code. There’s almost nothing you can’t do simply by being consistent in life. Confidence, at least for me, definitely goes a long way in building the mentality that I deserve the rewards of my hard work and I belong in the places I’m trying to get to in life. After consistently putting in time over years of studying a particular craft, BE CONFIDENT, and trust those skills and know that you have what it takes to succeed.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My creativeness/career is unique because I’m a full-time sound engineer for NFL Films and I’m also a full-time entrepreneur as a music producer. I travel around the world for the NFL recording players and coaches and making movies about football. In my travels around the world I’m also creating music, working with artists and composing music for tv and films. It’s like a weird marriage of being able to do two things that compliment each other well and also allows me the flexibility to be able to do each of those things simultaneously.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in South Jersey and Philly is only 20 minutes from the crib so we would definitely hit the city for a good time. One of my favorite restaurants in Philly is a steakhouse, Butcher and Singer, so that would be the spot for dinner. If not Butcher and Singer for dinner we would hit up Talula’s Garden for dinner and drinks. I’m a pretty chill dude so we would be low key hitting some museums around the city for sure! I’m not really into big music venue shows so we would probably catch a smaller show at World Cafe or the Fillmore. At some point we would head back over the bridge to Jersey and go to a vineyard for a wine tasting.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Ayeeee…shoutout to my family!! Without a conversation that I had with my my mom back in high school encouraging me to go to school to study music I would’ve chosen a different route. That convo and moment was huge for me because I realized that I didn’t have to play it safe when it came to what I wanted to do in life. At that moment I realized that I should pursue my passions and goals and could also have the support of the people closest to me. I also have to shoutout my wife because without her support now there is no way I would be able to continue to pursue my passions and spend countless hours working and in the studio the way I am now. I tell her all the time that she’s the glue that keeps everything together and I couldn’t do it without her love and support. I’m blessed to have a great support system around me for sure.
