We had the good fortune of connecting with Dre P. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dre, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To be self made. An octopus, 8 hands on everything. Multi faceted hustles. The average millionaire has 7 businesses, I knew I needed atleast 7 to have the life I always envisioned. The fly lyfe, it was always in me. That’s how I was going to make out the mud and feed my family.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Dre P. hails from Toledo in Ohio. He is also fondly known by the name ‘Mud City’ or ‘The Mudd’. Representing his clothing brand. and in representation to his hometown being colonized on a mud swamp. “Football was my passion forever. I was forced to drop out of college because I couldn’t afford the partial scholarship they gave me. One more semester and I would’ve had a full ride. I was a redshirted as a freshman.
That’s when I found music and never stopped. I was immediately discovered by a talent scout who heard my music in my dads shop. From there I did Apollo Theater, 106 n Park and it never stopped
as if I was chosen. “
Dre P. is very versatile and his songs are very melodic. He was very much affected by the death of his near and dear ones which has left a mark on him. Apart from being a artist and actor, he is also into producing and has his own production house called ‘Fly Guy Entertainment Co.’ Dre P. is an ‘Independent Shark’.

Every time I wanted to quit I remember why I started. The Mudd. Nobody makes it from where I’m from. If they do they forget about there hometown. I do a 8 year annual Turkey drive to give back and remind them they can do it to. It’s always been for my city.
I learned you can’t be scared to be great. You must recreate and rebrand to stay effective. This is the hardest career I believe there is but I love what I do so I would never stop. I’ve been homeless, hungry broke but I always found away. The fly lyfe was always in me. I am a Mudd made mogul

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
