We had the good fortune of connecting with Dré Ali and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dré, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always believed my talent can not be bought so starting a record label provided me with the opportunity to assert myself as an owner as well as an artist.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hard work, dedication, and perfection. These are core principles that I align myself with to set myself apart. Im most excited about showcasing my art to the world and putting out new material. Again, hard work, dedication, and striving for perfection is what got me to where I am today. No, the process was not easy but the only thing you can do is keep going. Do not stop.
For me I want the world to know that I am the walking definition of hard work paying off and as far my brand and story its too early for me to say but only time will tell and I hope the story will be amazing.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing we would do is hop in my 96 Impala SS and play the most Atlanta music I can find and go get 10 pc philly and wing from East Point Fish and Wing on Main ST. Then we would head over to the High Museum to check out a few pieces of art. This experience is tailored made for the flyest of women.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my co-ceo Marcus LaRüe. We started Hall Of Fame Records in 2018 with one goal in mind and thats to be the best.
