We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tiffany Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Tiffany, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The most important decision that I had to make and that contributed to my success, is when I chose to choose myself. I spent most of my life searching for validation from others which led to resentment, unhappiness, and not feeling fulfilled. When I chose to let go of that broken place and give myself permission to create the life I envisioned, self-validation became easier for me to do and so did my walking in my purpose.
What should our readers know about your business?
Our company’s vision is to build healthy families and communities by providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and businesses. One of our specialties is in working with women who are healing and recovering from relationship trauma such as toxic relationships.
We are most proud of our growth over the past years, despite the challenges encountered during the pandemic, which forced us to pivot.Through the uncertain times, I learned not to lose sight of the vision; to trust the process; and how to be flexible and perserverent.
Lessons that I have learned as a first-generation entrepreneur, 4x sexual abuse survivor, and teen parent is the importance of not allowing your past to define you; but how to use what you have gone through as a stepping stone into the future.
In my line of work, my past qualifies me to do what I do with authenticity. Along with that is the responsibility to help others overcome similar life challenges. In essence, mental and emotional healing has become two of the main pillars of my business and ultimately, my purpose for living.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I could design a dream “girls trip’ in the ATL, I would definitely eat at Two urban licks, visit the Martin Luther King Historical Park, stop by the Aquarium and Coca Cola museum and take a hike up Stone Mountain. For shopping and more dining options, we could not miss stopping by the Atlantic Station and Apache Cafe for an evening of good poetry, music, laughter and fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thank you to my friends and family for their support, encouragement, patience, and willingness to help me in any way possible. I would also like to shout out my mentor, Joshua P. Smith for his support, leadership, and tutelage and for setting a great example of what is to be “THE” change agent.
