We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tanitra Scorza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Tanitra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I founded this business with a mission to empower founders and organizations dedicated to serving underserved communities. My journey began with a music school aimed at providing world-class education to those often overlooked. Despite the passion driving me, I faced challenges due to the lack of guidance, support, and infrastructure for sustainable growth. Learning from these experiences, I committed to personal and professional development, obtaining certifications in instructional design, business coaching, mindset coaching, and consulting.

My goal is to leverage these insights to support businesses and organizations in achieving greater success and impact. Through tailored guidance and capacity-building support, I aim to help entrepreneurs, particularly women of color, navigate challenges and achieve sustainable growth without succumbing to overwhelm.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Three must-visit spots include the Ponce City Market, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, and the APEX Museum. Ponce City Market is a vibrant mixed-use development located in the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood. When you have lunch at Ponce City Market, you’ll be spoiled for choice with the array of food stalls and restaurants offering diverse cuisines. From Southern comfort food to global flavors, there’s something to satisfy every palate. While you’re there, also be sure to explore the shops that range from trendy clothing boutiques to artisanal food shops. You’ll find a unique selection of goods from local vendors and independent retailers. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a breathtaking oasis nestled in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. Spanning 30 acres, the garden features a diverse collection of plant species from around the world, as well as stunning outdoor sculptures and themed gardens. Definitely take the time to take everything in with all five senses. You’ll be surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and fragrant blooms as you wander through winding pathways and tranquil gardens. Highlights include the Fuqua Orchid Center, the Japanese Garden, and the Canopy Walk, which offers an elevated perspective of the garden’s tree canopy. Lastly, the APEX Museum is located in Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn district, dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of African Americans in the city and beyond. Founded in 1978, the museum’s mission is to educate and inspire visitors through exhibits, artifacts, and interactive displays. While you’re there, you’ll be able to explore exhibits on the civil rights movement, African American entrepreneurship, and cultural heritage.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Growing up surrounded by entrepreneurs, from my parents to close family friends, instilled in me the value of pursuing dreams. Even as a young child, I envisioned myself giving back to my community, aspiring to be a philanthropist before fully grasping the concept. I always believed in pouring from a full cup, but I struggled to see how to achieve that abundance. Despite this, my desire to support and uplift my community remained steadfast, even if it seemed like it would come at the cost of personal wealth.

Reading “We Should All Be Millionaires” by Rachel Rodgers reignited my dream. It illuminated the possibility of both giving back to my community and attaining significant wealth. This realization was profound; it showed me that these goals didn’t have to be mutually exclusive. Rodgers’ insights empowered me to pursue my dreams with renewed vigor and purpose, reshaping my understanding of what was possible. For that, I’m forever grateful.
