Meet Dr. Stephanie Lett | Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Stephanie Lett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Stephanie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my willingness to be led by God. I’m honored to be a vessel he entrusts to serve others. My faith in him allows me to execute whatever vision he gives me, no matter how big or small. My career is not just a tool to earn a livelihood, but it is my purpose and passion.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner of Love Out Loud (L.O.L.) Counseling and Consulting Services. The story behind the name is quite dear to me. I was lying in bed one day watching the news and felt an overwhelming amount of grief as I noted how C.N.N., hypothetically speaking, stood for Constant Negative News. I could not remember the last time the news covered motivating and inspiring stories. It was in that moment that the word LOVE came to mind. I remember thinking love is an action word and we need to Love Out Loud, it was at that moment that those words would define the mission and principle that I wanted my business to stand on. I launched my business in May of 2019. One month from the date my husband and I separated, leaving me to raise our 3 kids alone. There was so much uncertainty at that time in my life. Despite the fear and uncertainty that was present, my faith was so strong in what God was leading me to do. I left my full time job to pursue my private practice. Within six months of being open, I hired an administrator and an additional clinician due to the influx of clients I was receiving. My company has now grown to three locations and 17 team members. I would like the world to know that despite what life may present or uncertainty that may be present in your life, nothing can stop you but YOU!!! Your vision was given to you for a reason. Just execute the plan! I’m rooting for you!!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I must say, Birmingham has quite a bit to offer. I would definitely take her to uptown for lunch or dinner. We would visit the Birmingham Museum of Art and Civil Rights Museum. I would take her to the Ross Bridge Resort for an all you can eat breakfast buffet at Brock’s restaurant and then book us a spa appointment for massages and facials at the resort. I would also take her to the Perfect Note for great music and food.

I would take her around for a city tour and any festivals or activities that may be going on in the city that week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success could not have been where it is without the love and support of my mother Thelma Thomas and my pastor James Jones. They both push me to be what God has called me to be and I am forever grateful for their wisdom and support.
