We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shaherah Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shaherah, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Happiness is loving yourself. Making my mental health a priority and helping others do the same feels amazing. To be able to wake up and walk in purpose daily definitely puts a spring in my steps. When you’re happy, it’s really a state of being, influenced by a number of factors, including self love. Self love has allowed me to see myself in a totally different way. To see my personal growth and happiness evolve is like seeing a love story unfold. My happiness is an inside job that I nurture daily.

What should our readers know about your business?
Dr. Shaherah Williams, a traditional trained chiropractor now serving as a multifaceted holistic practitioner. I help others to align the mind, body and spirit holistically. I’m the CEO of Oasis WellBeing Center,LLC offering mind body therapies for adults and children, holistic doula services and stress management memberships. My personal brand is Dr.S Speaks, LLC the speaker, mental wellness coach, and mindfulness consultant for corporations, businesses, and churches.

I’m passionate about mental health advocacy and educating people about mind-body principles that are applicable to everyday living. Trailblazer nation is a recent virtual community that I created to offer leaders a way to start the day with faith-centered meditation and empowerment. The joy I feel when I see others getting the lessons as tools to overcome obstacles and become their most powerful selves is indescribable.

Through my private and free FB groups, seminars, retreats, and masterclasses I get to educate, empower, inspire and equip through shared stories of perseverance and resilience. My relatability has people all over the country wanting to know more about my initiative program “Teach Me How To Breathe Again.” The journey I have been on is a gift and has saved my life.

After experiencing my own personal battles with depression leading to mental crisis, I knew I could no longer keep silent. I’m definitely solution driven and knew mental health advocacy was purpose driven. Once I owned my truth and no longer allowed religious borders, shame or guilt to keep me from seeking therapy my life turned around. I dare not tread high tides in my life and not use my experience to help prevent others from going down the same path. True community understands the power of giving back to uplift, empower and heal.

Whether I’m speaking to corporations, businesses, churches, teen girls, non-profit organizations, radio shows, or writing content for Sheen Magazine, I always speak my truth. My greatest fulfillment has come from the good, the bad and the ugly of my life to inspire and empower others to heal from the inside out. My transparency equals transformation.

It was in my lowest moments when life brought me to my knees that I realized it was time to truly heal. I made God my foundation. The life he’s helped me build is beyond what I could have imagined. I was tired of letting myself down and making poor choices due to trauma and not fully understanding why I needed to continue to live. I urge every client to seek God about their purpose to give them a reason to keep pressing and never give up on themselves..

My mission is to be an agent of transformation, healing, by helping others to BREATHE AGAIN after facing mental health crisis, trauma and challenges of LIFE.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My friends know I’m a little home body, if I had it my way. However, taking them downtown Greenville SC would be a must. I love good food so definitely going to Farm Fresh Fast, LLC or Rooftop Bar for some good food and laughs. I love Falls Park in Greenville to see the beautiful waterfalls. If they wanted to meditate with me in nature, I would definitely head over to Paris mountain for a time of stillness and relaxation. We would end the night at Blues Boulevard for a chill night of jazz and a glass of wine or The Comedy Zone. Sunday morning we will attend Changing Your Mind Ministries to get our praise on and receive a powerful word from Pastor Wendell Jones.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son Malik and my daughter Kelsie has been my biggest inspiration to continue to grow and become the best version of myself. Their love and support is unwavering and they have become my biggest supporters.
