We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shadaria Allison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shadaria, what do you want people to remember about you?
I would like my legacy to be transparency. I have been so many versions of myself to get to my higher identity and I’ve shared the transformation with the world, just to prove its possibility. I think this is important in our microwave social media generation. People need to know that we don’t all wake up “successful.” I want people to know that I came from various levels of low to reach the highest…and that I got there because of Yeshua.

What should our readers know about your business?
Being a creative in business is no easy feat. It’s like walking with opposite shoes on really, On one hand you want to live in the space of perspective freedoms so that you can create with ease and then on the other, you must reel in creativity to remain disciplined enough to conduct business effectively. I think that what sets me apart from other creative curators in business is the audacity to do both minus the compromise. I refuse to put down my creative side for the sake of my business and in the same way, I refuse to forsake business to be “just a creative”. I am most proud of my staying power. Entrepreneurship is not for the weak. It is just like a relationship; you get in what you put out and everyone can tell when you’ve been unfaithful. Girl Boss Publishing, Dr. Allison The Beauty Practitioner, and Married2theMission survive with one intent; Love God, Serve People.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my friends to the “selfie museum” I think it kills 2 birds with one stone. You can never have too many pictures for marketing, and you will always need to have a good time, looking good and feeling your best. Welcome to NC BABY!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There were so many WOMEN that influenced my success story. My mother, Shandra Allison, My Aunts; Teela Gaither, Maimie Houston, Cintonia Sommerville, My grandmothers and great-grandmothers. My first mentor, Lisa Brown (Salon Lisa Brown) and so many other women. TN Harper, Ashley Lowe (bestie) A.Nichel, Ashley Wheeler, so many friends, but all of them women. I want women to know that if it had not been for them, Id not be here; that’s why when I succeed, it’s always with them in mind.
