We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr Sam March-Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr Sam, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I used to strive for balance because in my mind there is a time and a place for everything. As I struggled to find that balance often, I now realize that I am looking for synergy or harmony instead. Now that I am 11 months postpartum, a multi-business owner, a wife, and a mother, my ambition is even stronger! So now balance doesn’t exist. Focus does. Embracing what is in front of me does. Finding synergy in the flow of life does. Balance is simply a misnomer. Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business trajectory was the typical path of any business owner – highs, lows, and plateaus. We started our first chiropractic business in April 2016, and our 2nd business (mentorship in the chiropractic industry) in August 2018. Both of these have fashioned me into the CEO that I am today. They have taught me the importance of patience, gratitude, love, fellowship, and discipline. By no means have I arrived, the mission of reaching every single person before they are a mother or while pregnant, child, and all of their family member has just begun a new chapter in our journey. In our practice, our patients are family. Our brand and story is to serve with excellence, and integrity by empowering our community to stay on the path of health through education.Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d brunch at Gocha’s, lunch at Plant-based Pizzeria, and have dinner at Canoe! When we are not eating, we’d get a massage and adjustment at 100% Chriopractic in Dunwoody, fill up on their awesome supplements, and shop at the Avalon shopping mall while we were in the area. On the weekend, we’d ensure that visiting Stone Mountain is possible via hike, or taking a lazy ride on the Hooch!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and business partner, Dr J, and my son, Jon are the co-authors and drivers to the next chapter. My entire family has been the biggest support system, especially my sister, Stacia and mother. Without them, doing life in GA and raising our son would be even more difficult. I am truly blessed.
