Meet Dr. Queena | CEO, Therapist and Mental Health Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Queena and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Queena, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My company, Walking In Wellness, LLC, is committed to making a positive and lasting social impact on both individuals and the broader community. Our mission is to promote mental health, emotional resilience, and holistic well-being, particularly among underserved and marginalized populations. By providing accessible, high-quality therapy services, we help break down barriers to mental health care. We also contribute to the development of the next generation of clinicians by supporting associate-licensed therapists through supervision and professional development. This strengthens the mental health workforce and expands access to care. Through compassionate, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices, we aim to empower individuals, strengthen families, and foster healthier communities—one session at a time.
What should our readers know about your business?
Walking In Wellness, LLC was born out of a deep passion for mental health and a calling to create a space where healing feels safe, accessible, and empowering. What sets us apart is our commitment to resilience, connection, and culturally responsive care. We’re not just offering therapy—we’re creating space for people to reconnect with themselves and thrive.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy. Building a private practice from the ground up required courage, persistence, and a whole lot of faith. There were moments of doubt, financial stress, and slow seasons that made me question everything. But through it all, I stayed grounded in the belief that the work we do matters—that showing up for people in their most vulnerable moments is both sacred and powerful.
I’m most proud of the team we’re building. Our therapists are not only clinically skilled, but deeply compassionate and aligned with the mission of helping others walk in wellness—however that looks for them. I’m also proud of how we support early-career therapists and provide opportunities for growth and mentorship.
One major lesson I’ve learned is that success doesn’t have to look like hustle all the time. It can be rooted in integrity, alignment, and intention. When you build a business based on your values, even the hard days feel purposeful.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about Walking In Wellness, LLC, it’s this: we believe healing is possible for everyone. Whether someone is taking their first step or their hundredth, we’re here to walk alongside them—because no one should have to navigate life’s challenges alone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit Atlanta for a week, we’d make the most of every moment—this city has so much to offer. Atlanta is full of culture, history, great food, nature, and a creative energy that you can feel.
On Day 1, we’d kick things off with brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club—their chicken and waffles are everyyyythang! Then we’d take a casual walk through Centennial Olympic Park, ride the SkyView Ferris Wheel, and maybe stop by the Georgia Aquarium or World of Coca-Cola. Dinner would definitely be at 9 Mile Station on top of Ponce City Market so that we could take in the sunset and reflect on our day. For Day 2, I’d lean more towards Black history and culture. Since Atlanta is the heartbeat of civil rights history, I’d definitely take my friend to the King Center and Dr. King’s childhood home–I still have pictures from my very first visit. I’d do lunch at Busy Bee Cafe, explore Auburn Avenue and do dinner at Twisted Soul Cookhouse. Other interesting places to check out/hang out would be the Trap Museum, City Winery, Krog Street Market, Piedmont Park, Little Five Points and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. Atlanta has so much to offer–this doesn’t even tip the iceberg.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is dedicated to every single opportunity that didn’t work out— every “no”, every closed door, and every ending. I’m grateful for redirection and making space for something better.
