We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. LaVerne Ware, CPCS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. LaVerne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my own business to provide more accessible mental healthcare to women. Also to take control of my schedule and lifestyle.
What should our readers know about your business?
I believe that the decision to seek counseling is the first step to self care. I specialize in providing a safe, judgement free environment that allows individuals to approach any topic including intimacy and feeling overwhelmed by life’s responsibilities. My mission is to help women transform their personal and relationship challenges into opportunities for growth. Nearly 25 years ago, I began my counseling career working with families and adolescences in a variety of settings. Today my practice focuses on woman and older adolescents who struggle with issues such as grief, relationships, divorce, depression, anxiety, stress, motivation, self-esteem, sexual identity, or who simply feel “stuck.” It is my hope that whether someone is starting out or starting over, they will allow me to assist them in the process.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d enjoy a good bike ride or walk on the Atlanta Beltline! There are several restaurants that I take them to: Mexican food at Superica ,TWO Urban Licks’ salmon chips and a cold slushie from ASW. Also, the natural scenery, artwork and fresh air are aesthetically pleasing.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
