We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Keshius Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Keshius, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

My thought process behind starting my own business consisted of a few factors’ passion, time, process, and profit. I am a believer that we can work smartly and not hard to start a business. In other words, be strategic about your business moves to avoid unnecessary obstacles. But also, launch businesses that you are passionate about. One thing I have learned is if you do what you enjoy, it will never feel like work. I am passionate about helping people. So, my business ventures are centered around service. I really want to change the world by making it a better place and I do this by helping others in whatever capacity is needed.

Another factor considered behind my thought process was my time. I asked myself what business could I launch that would take the least amount of time away from my family? As a wife and mom of 5 children, I want to always be available to my family. Therefore, my business had to revolve around their schedule. It had to be something that was flexible and did not require so much of my time.

Then I considered the process. What does the business model look like? This comes with visualizing the actual business and the moving components needed to execute the model. The process also includes will I be dedicated to growing the business? Am I willing to see the process through?

The last factor considered behind starting my own business was profit. The passion is there. But how do I turn passion into profit? How can I use my gift/passion to support my family? Once these factors were addressed and the vision was plain, the execution process began.

What sets my practice apart from others is passion and service. I wholeheartedly believe we were created to be of service to others. This drives my passion to help others. When people meet me, they feel my energy, authenticity. and ability to connect with people. In business, I am most proud that I help people become the best version of themselves while surpassing my financial goals for my business. In my personal life, I am excited about becoming a first-time grandma (BiBi)!

I got to where I am today by being strategic in business. I am not a time waster. So, every move I make must make sense. When you allow God to lead you in decision making, it is easy but not without challenges. You overcome the challenges by trusting God’s decisions. Some lessons I have learned along the way are when you put the work in business you will see the return. Just keep going. Do something you are great at and do it well. Also, be led by passion not profit. Then charge for your passion.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To show my best friends the best time ever, I would take them to Bar Vegan for food and drinks. We would visit the King Center. We would hang out at the Sky Lounge in Atlanta. We would eat at Bar Vegan because the food is delicious. The ambiance is sexy, cool. And the drinks are just right. We would visit the King Center because of the history alone and it is a great reminder of who we are and what we are capable of. It starts with a dream. We would hang out at Sky Lounge because I have never been. I have always wanted to eat on the rooftop. And it’s something great for my best friends and I to experience together as first-timers.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I must shoutout my family who supports me every step of the way. Particularly, my husband who travels with me and allows me to bounce ideas off of him. My 5 children (Corshell, Spirit, Promise, Grace, and Legend) who inspire me to be the best person I can be. To my village, who keeps me surrounded by love. Lastly, shoutout to God for choosing me to help change the world.
