We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Kerry Ann Zamore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Kerry Ann, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My grandparents were entrepreneurs so the drive for having my own has always need a part of who I am as a person. For me, my business is my passion and purpose so the thoughts in starting a business was truly to live out my purpose

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have had the amazing opportunity to mix my occupation in my vocation. By education I have a PhD in social work and I am a university professor, by life experience I have been in some form of theater all my life. I have had the amazing opportunity of using my education and experience in social work to tell stories through stage plays and films where I am able to bring awareness and education to communities in the form of performing arts. It has truly been an amazing opportunity bringing both worlds together and seeing how it impacts and inspires individuals.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, so the crazy thing is I am an introvert and I really don’t go out much so my favorite place would be parks quiet areas where I can think. If I am out more than likely I’m in the theater on a stage somewhere so I definitely say a park playing soccer or just being one with nature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I don’t think there’s necessarily one person that I could give a shout out to because I have had several destiny helpers on my journey through life. My destiny helpers have been mentors, family members, community support, my children, my spouse. I think right now a destiny helper who has pushed me to greater in this season of my journey is my mentor Cheryl Williamson. She pours into me, open doors of opportunity and brings me ti table to learn and grow.
