We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jackson Garth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Jackson, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In the hemp and cannabis space, it is extremely difficult for POC to not only be involved, but have some meaningful equity stake. So, I started Verde Leaf ™ to create access to this space where POC could have real involvement and have a significant voice in the way the industry’s infrastructure is created. 

What should our readers know about your business?
Verde Leaf™ is one of the hemp industry’s first vertically integrated hemp companies that created solutions for the farmer, business owners, and consumers. We solve some of the critical challenges in the emerging hemp industry by assisting farmers with license acquisition, hemp cultivation and processing, and filling the knowledge gap with our network of seasoned hemp farmers and specialists across the Southeast. Moreover, by securing exclusive contracts with farmers, Verde Leaf™ ensures that hemp products sold to consumers have unprecedented clarity, consistency, and data available for products they are purchasing. By controlling our supply chain seed-to-sell, Verde Leaf gives customers assurance and confidence in the superior quality of our consumable and non-consumable product lines. By no means has it been easy. Every step of the way, we’ve had to endure nearly every learning curve item know as we build the hemp industry infrastructure. There is no roadmap, so we are building the airplane in flight. The benefit that we have had are dedicated team members who give consistent advice, implement strategies, and make adjustments to execute the goal. Each step along the way as we build the supply chain, we learn, assess, correct, adjust, and implement. Never Give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I’m here in Atlanta, we have to go to one of the local bars/hangouts in the city and sit on the patio. Before COVID that was one of the best things about Atlanta are all the cool places to hang and just enjoy the city. Atlanta’s one of those cities where everyone can party together without issues, so there are blended experiences that increase the enjoyment. When I’m in SC, I love Charleston and going to some of the seafood restaurants. ChuckTown has a laidback vibe where you can enjoy!
