We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. D’Metrius Bledsoe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. D’Metrius, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the success of others. It has always been something that pushed me. I love seeing my peers reach new heights and goals. Success takes discipline and that is the aspect that I respect the most when I see someone succeed at something. As a child I always gravitated to biography books and I still enjoy them today because of the road to success that each one details. They are full of trials and triumphs and learning of their success in spite of the tribulations always inspires me. Even as an artist, other artists and artwork inspire me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love being a chiropractor. I love knowing that I am able to provide a service that everyone can benefit from. Seeing people improve and feel better because of the care I provided excites me. The path to get to this point was very challenging involving the pursuit of a masters and doctorate degree. I endured struggles in school and life that caused a lot of doubt and uncertainty in myself but I overcame it with prayer, changes in my habits and the support of my loved ones. It is what I am most proud of in my young career. That time period gave me a new outlook and a new level of belief in myself and I will go even farther because of it. I’d like people to know that to get where I am now it took my very best effort and as a doctor every patient receives exactly that, my very best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend came into town I would take them to a few of my favorite restaurants including Ray’s in the City, Two Urban Licks and Atlantis Restaurant and Lounge for brunch. I would also like to take them to a couple of restaurants that I have not tried because there are plenty places that I still have to experience. Some fun places that I would have on the itinerary are the Trap Museum, The Painted Pin, High Museum and an Atlanta Hawks basketball game. For nightlife, I would take them to Boogalou Restaurant and Lounge or Suite Lounge. I know that any friend that visits would love the trip because of how much the city has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a few people that truly deserve recognition for the constant love and support that they have given me starting with my parents. They sacrificed so much in order for me to reach my goals and there is no way that I would be where I am or who I am without them. My younger sister D’Netria kept me in check with my studies over the years and whenever I am not feeling quite like myself she always centers me. My grandmother has always been a rock for me, giving me words of encouragement on some of my worst days and helping me grow spiritually. My girlfriend Brittany has shown an incredible belief in me and her support keeps me going. I’d like to shoutout all my friends and family members who have added value to my life. I wake up everyday to make these people proud.
