We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Cortesha Cowan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Cortesha, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal? That’s a easy one I want to be a part of making a difference. I want to make sure by the end of my career we have the full campuses for teenage mothers all over the nation and abroad; equipping them to be able to provide for their children. I am determined to also leave a legacy for my children’s children. All the titles don’t mean a thing to me,what matters the most is at the end of this career I can look back and see a full campuses thriving for generations to come for all women and children in need.– Dr. Cowan CVO and Founder of Mothers Helping Mothers Inc

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Everything I do is to empower women of all ages. From supportive services and personal development to business development and coaching; I believe women can change the world if given the keys to change their circumstances..

I am most proud that our agency has been able to now do work overseas. We started helping teenage mothers in Cape Town, South Africa in 2019 one of our major accomplishments; over 22,000 girls have been helped in that country since we started our program there.
What sets me apart from others is that We see my clients as people not numbers. We listen to their needs, it’s not just about what we want for them but what they want for themselves.
And we have a world vision for all women of all ages & in all stages of life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depends on what’s going in the city when they arrive. I from Ohio so only been here two years. But I came here often before moving here. So, let’s just say we have to start at Old Lady Gang to fill up on some amazing southern soul food. And on a Sunday afternoon, I would take my them to the “Garden Parc ATL, because it’s a laid-back environment with amazing food and staff, this is one of my go to places to relax and enjoy time with others in my Bawse Builders Tribe. —

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to my mother in heaven, who was my main pusher the one that continue to make sure I kept going in my calling. She believed wholeheartedly in the vision God gave me for Mothers Helping Mothers. It would not be right if I didn’t shout out the lady who wore the badge that read “the Hostess and Mother of the CEO Miss Terri White” Even The last few weeks of her life she continue to make sure she told me you better continue working with those mothers and those babies. They need you don’t get bitter, get better!
