We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Anna Kolomitseva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Anna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Innovation has been at the heart of our success. From the beginning, Independently Healthy Wellness & Coaching (IHWC) was built to fill a gap that traditional models were not addressing We didn’t want to follow a script. We wanted to redefine what personalized wellness could look like when it is built on strategy, structure and care that actually works.

Success came from thinking like a founder, not a practitioner. That meant creating original systems to support long-term results, integrating nutritionists into care planning and developing a team culture that values clarity and precision. We designed services that reflect how real transformation happens, over time through education and with the right support.

Being recognized as a thought leader in functional wellness has also helped shape the brand. Whether through published case studies, national interviews or referrals from other professionals, people now associate IHWC with a higher standard of care. We are known for being intentional, compliant and outcome-driven. That reputation was not accidental. It was built though steady work and clear commitment to doing things differently.

Most recently , we expanded into Connecticut where we now provide care under full naturopathic licensure. That growth has allowed us to serve a broader population while continuing to refine the systems that set us apart. At the core of it all is the belief that wellness should be simple, strategic and sustainable. That belief drives everything we do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Independently Healthy Wellness & Coaching (IHWC) is a concierge-style wellness consulting company that helps high-performing women stabilize energy, balance hormones and build lasting metabolic health. What sets us apart is the level of structure and strategy behind the care. We don’t rely on one-size-fits-all protocols. We offer personalized frameworks designed to support change over time with clarity and consistency.

Getting here wasn’t easy. The business was founded in Georgia, where naturopathic doctors are not licensed. That limitation pushed us to think differently. We worked closely with legal and business advisors to build a model that is fully compliant while still offering a high standard of care. We developed proprietary systems that focus on education, tracking and real outcomes. We brought in nutritionists to co-develop resources that support sustainable change. We designed our care plans to reflect how real people live.

What I’m most proud of is the integrity behind everything we do. The systems we use are actionable, adaptable and client-oriented. Our team does not just deliver care. We partner with clients in a way that helps them feel informed, supported and equipped to become independently healthy. That means not relying on supplements forever not chasing trendy diets or long-term medications, but knowing how to use food as medicine, how to manage stress, how to sleep deeply and how to actually digest and eliminate well.

Practicing in Georgia required more than adaptation. It reshaped how I approached both my work and leadership itself. Letting go of the traditional model made space for innovation and a unique care methodology to come to life. With a clear mission and a flexible mindset, it’s possible to create something that reaches far beyond what you originally planned.

What I want people to know about our brand is that it was never about following trends. It was built to bring people back to the fundamentals of health. We break the complex into simple, actionable steps that lead to real transformation. We don’t believe in band-aid approaches. We take the time to ask why, to investigate the root cause and apply a research-based strategy to every step of care. That’s what it means to become independently healthy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d probably throw together a mix of good food, low-key outings and a few places that feel a little special without being touristy.

We’d start with Chateau Elan for some wine tasting. The grounds are gorgeous and it’s just far enough out to feel like you’re getting away, even if only for an afternoon. The tasting room is relaxed and pretty and we’d probably just sit for a while and catch up.

On another day, we’d spend time at Avalon in Alpharetta. We friend’s fashion-obsessed, as we’d wander through boutiques and probably try on ten things we don’t need. Then we’d stop for lunch at Antico Pizza because honestly, the pizza speaks for itself.

Saturday morning we’d do the Roswell Farmers Market. It’s got great organic produce and a bunch of fun little vendors. I like the pace of it. And if we’re cooking later that day, it’s the perfect place to pick up a few things.

Somewhere in there we’d absolutely go to Sock’s Love Barbecue in Cumming. It’s hands down my favorite barbecue place. Super casual, really good food, no frills.

And then if the timing lines up, we’d swing by the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market. That one’s for me. I’m kind of a geek about antiques and I could dig through old furniture and dusty books for hours. It’s one of those places where you never know what you’ll find.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This work would not exist without the people and organizations who helped shape the foundation of what we’ve built. I’m especially grateful for the mentors and advisors who guided us through the legal and ethical complexities of starting a wellness consulting company in a state without naturopathic licensure. Their insight was invaluable.

Credit also goes to the early clients who trusted the process before we had a reputation. Their feedback helped refine and create the structure we now use to support long-term results.

The support of professional organizations has been another key piece. The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Georgia Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Connecticut Association of Naturopathic Physicians have all played a role in keeping us connected, informed and supported within the broader professional landscape.

And of course, none of this would be possible without our team. From nutritionists to behind-the-scenes operations, everyone brings a level of care and professionalism that defines our client experience. The success of IHWC is deeply collaborative and that is something we’re proud to honor every step of the way.
