Meet Doug Munster | Adoption Advocate/ Fundraiser

We had the good fortune of connecting with Doug Munster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Doug, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important aspect is to have the passion for your business or cause. With the work we do helping families complete the adoption process. I feel you have to have the drive and passion for the work you do no matter what. This will give you the drive to fight all barriers to be a success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Gift of Adoption. Our mission is to provide adoption assistance grants to complete the adoptions of children in vulnerable circumstances—giving them permanent families and a chance to thrive.
As of December 31 2023, Gift of Adoption Georgia has awarded $855,000 in adoption assistance grants across Georgia to complete the adoptions of 243 children.

We have achieved our goals with working to promote the message of adoption and working with so many supporters which get the need and message of adoption. There is so many challenges with adoption but with the passion and drive to help every family that needs or assistance we will not stop the work we do.
Each year, Gift of Adoption Georgia receives requests from approximately 42 qualified families – representing a funding need of $205,000. The goal of the Georgia Chapter’s all-volunteer board is to raise enough funds to help complete each of these adoptions. 100% of the money raised by the chapter is directed to uniting children with forever families in the area.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well atlanta is our town. We love this wonderful city. If I was visiting this city some wonderful hot spots are in Buckhead area right near our home. I would have a wonderful dinner at St. Cecilia a fantastic spot with Italian seafood & pasta plus cocktails are presented in a glamorous venue with high ceilings which are beautiful. The you need to go over and check out the amazing rooftop at St. Julep. Also spending a day at our wonderful Piedmont park the Central Park of Atlanta. If you feel adventurous go up to Dalonaga Ga about and hour outside city to check out wonderful wineries with spectacular views! I would also highly recommend starting at a wonderful BNB mountain laurel creek. Atlanta is a fantastic destination also hot spots are Braves stadium and many cool pocket neighborhoods.
