Meet Dorian Gayle | Stand Up Comedian,Entertainer and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dorian Gayle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dorian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to become an entertainer and start my own company .I wanted produce content, film and production not just as an entertainer but as a business owner. As an entertainer when I wasn’t working on my craft I planned to own everything I do and as much as I can own

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My aspirations to become a entertainer started at the age of 15 by crating my YouTube account.Ok my YouTube account I would post and create content that I thought to be entertaining. I continued my journey at 17 while in high school.My senior year at Heritage High School in Palm Bay,Florida I took tv productions and musical theater. In high school I started developing a desire to pursue entertainment business, I hosted the school talent shows and appeared in front of hundreds of students every day on the school news. At the age of 18,I was doing stand up comedy open mic on my hometown. In 2017 I started Dorian Gayle LLC. 2018 was a great year for me as a stand up comedian because I was able to open up performing stand up comedy for DC Youngfly and Karlous Miller. I never stopped posting content on the internet but in 2020 when the app Tik Tok was released I experienced viral success. I found the Tik Tok “Transformation challenge” which was trending at the time.I decided to do impressions of some of my favorite comedians using the “Transformation challenge”format.I did impressions of Bernie Mac,Chris Tucker, and Chris Rock. As a creator to gain massive exposure it’s smart to post on all main social media websites Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Snapchat and Tik Tok. My Chris Rock impression did well on Tik Tok accumulating over 300,000 views when I reposted it on Twitter Lil Jon’s Twitter account retweeted it. My Bernie Mac impression transformation did very well accumulating over I million views on Tik Tok in 3 days,600,000 views on various pages on Instagram and even being reposted by Steve Harvey’s Twitter page. My Chris Tucker impression did the most in mainstream exposure gaining millions of views and reshares on Facebook,Instagram,Twitter,Tik Tok and Snapchat. By March of 2021,I had earned over 16,000 Instagram followers and over 70,000 followers on Tik Tok. In 2021 I produced my first two stand up comedy shows which is one of my greatest accomplishments. I was able to headline comedy shows with bookers that I have wanted to work with and things have been going great ever since.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown Orlando is a great area. I’ve seen comedians such as Eddie Griffin and D.L Hughley perform at The Orlando Improv.it’s one of my favorite spots to go. I enjoy the Millinia Mall and the area surrounding is lit, vibe is chill and the food is great.One restaurant I would recommend is The Licking, their food is fire.
