We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Savage, M.Ed and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business in the childcare consulting industry was a natural progression for me, deeply rooted in my personal journey and experiences. Being a second-generation childcare owner for over 12 years, I witnessed firsthand the incredible impact a well-structured and organized childcare business can have on the lives of children, families, and the community as a whole.
As I worked alongside my mom in our family business, I realized the immense value of having high-quality systems in place to ensure smooth operations, exceptional care, and sustainable growth. Our success was not just a result of our passion and dedication but also the result of implementing effective strategies, streamlined processes, and proven methodologies.
Driven by a burning desire to share this knowledge and empower other childcare owners, I embarked on the path of starting my own childcare consultant company. I wanted to bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering comprehensive guidance to fellow entrepreneurs on how to start, grow, and organize their childcare businesses with a focus on success and delivering high-quality care.
My thought process behind starting this business was deeply rooted in the belief that every child deserves the best possible early childhood experience, and every childcare owner should have the tools and knowledge to create an environment that fosters growth, learning, and happiness.
By sharing my insights, strategies, and firsthand experiences, I aim to empower others to achieve their dreams and make a positive impact in the lives of children and families. My goal is to provide comprehensive guidance, mentorship, and resources that help childcare owners build a solid foundation, navigate challenges, and create a thriving business that serves as a beacon of excellence in their community.
Ultimately, my passion for early childhood education, combined with my personal journey as a second-generation childcare owner, fueled my decision to start this business. I am committed to empowering and supporting fellow childcare owners in their pursuit of success, ensuring that every child receives the highest standard of care and education in a nurturing and enriching environment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My childcare consultant company was born out of my passion for empowering and uplifting other childcare owners nationwide. My primary focus is to teach aspiring entrepreneurs how to start, grow, and organize their childcare businesses with high-quality systems for success. With over 12 years of experience as a second-generation childcare owner, my journey has allowed me to witness the transformative power of well-structured childcare businesses.
One aspect of my work that fills me with immense pride is the positive impact I’ve had on women in the childcare industry across the country. By sharing my knowledge and sprinkling good energy, I have been able to uplift and support countless women as they navigate their own entrepreneurial journeys. Seeing them flourish and create thriving childcare businesses is incredibly rewarding.
To get where I am today, I followed a path of seeking guidance from mentors, pursuing higher education, and immersing myself in the core values of business and entrepreneurship from an early age. I recognized the importance of continuous learning and staying ahead of industry trends to offer the most effective strategies and solutions to my clients.
Building a successful business is never easy, and I encountered numerous challenges along the way. However, I overcame these hurdles by embracing a resilient mindset and seeking support from my network. I learned to view challenges as opportunities for growth and consistently sought innovative solutions to overcome them.
Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I have learned valuable lessons. One crucial lesson is the power of collaboration and community. By connecting with other professionals in the childcare industry, I have been able to broaden my perspective, gain new insights, and create meaningful partnerships. Additionally, I have realized the importance of embracing adaptability and flexibility in an ever-changing business landscape.
As for my brand and story, I want the world to know that I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact on early childhood education. My consultancy is built on a foundation of knowledge, experience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed. I strive to provide valuable resources, mentorship, and guidance to childcare owners, empowering them to create exceptional environments for children to learn and grow.
Furthermore, I am excited about my newest role as a children’s book author for “Daddy Misses Darla,” a grief awareness book. This project aligns with my mission to support children and families through difficult times. I am also thrilled to embark on the “100 Journeys of Hope” initiative, which aims to inspire and uplift families by sharing stories of resilience and healing.
In conclusion, my journey in the childcare consulting industry has been a fulfilling one. I am proud of the positive impact I have made on other women in the field and excited about the opportunities ahead, including my role as a children’s book author. My brand and story represent a commitment to empowering others, providing valuable resources, and leaving a lasting legacy of excellence in early childhood education.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! There are definitely individuals and projects that deserve credit and recognition in my journey. First and foremost, I would like to dedicate a heartfelt shoutout to my mother, Yolanda Ellis. She is the visionary who started our family business over 24 years ago. Her determination, hard work, and entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for the success I have achieved today. I am forever grateful for her guidance and the lessons I learned from her.
Additionally, I want to acknowledge and give credit to my husband, Mr. Savage. He has been an incredible support system and the driving force behind my brand. His strategic thinking, innovative ideas, and unwavering belief in my abilities have pushed me to reach my fullest potential. I owe a great deal of my success to his constant encouragement and guidance.
Lastly, I would like to bring attention to my newest project, “Darla Misses Daddy.” This children’s book holds a special place in my heart as it shares my personal childhood story and raises awareness about grief. Through this project, I aim to provide comfort, understanding, and support to children who may be going through similar experiences. It is my hope that this book will bring solace and serve as a valuable resource for children and families dealing with grief.
In conclusion, I extend my shoutout to my mother, Yolanda Ellis, and my husband, Mr. Savage, for their immense contributions to my journey. I also recognize the importance of “Darla Misses Daddy” and its potential to make a positive impact on children’s lives. Together, these individuals and projects have played significant roles in shaping my story, and I am deeply grateful for their presence and influence.
