We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Voltron and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
In any business, relationships are key. Good relationships with other vendors can lead to getting referrals and repeat business. In my business, I have been very successful in building strong relationships with both vendors and clients.

I believe that the key to my success in this area has been my focus on communication. I make sure to keep lines of communication open at all times. I respond quickly to emails and phone calls, and I make sure to follow up after meeting with someone in person. I also make sure to keep my promises, no matter how big or small they may be.

These strong relationships have helped me build a good reputation in my area. People know that they can count on me to deliver what I say I will, when I say I will.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Djing is my passion. It is what I love to do. I have been doing it for over 10 years and it has never gets old. Every time I get behind the decks, I feel a rush of excitement.

I grew up listening to House Music and Hip Hop, so those are the genres that I am most comfortable with playing. But I also enjoy doing karaoke every now and then. It keeps things fresh and fun.

What really sets me apart from other DJs is my ability to read a crowd. I know how to keep people dancing all night long. And that is what I live for – making people happy through music.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

As a self-proclaimed foodie, I am always on the lookout for new and innovative culinary experiences. And, what better way to work up an appetite than by getting some exercise in beforehand?

First up on our list is Eclipse di Luna. This restaurant is known for its tapas-style dining, which is perfect for sharing with friends. The atmosphere is intimate and inviting, and the food is absolutely delicious. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

After we’ve had our fill at Eclipse di Luna, it’s time to work off those calories with a hike up Kennesaw Mountain. Then we will do some bike tours and hit up arabia mountain trail and the beltline. Last, we will stop at one of my favorite spots Playa Bowls for a snack.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that mentored and inspired me along the way, and continue to do so. Recognition goes to my mentors, DJ Stormin Norman, DJ Mike Lee, and DJ Haneef. They taught me the ropes of being a successful mobile DJ. I would not be where I am today without their guidance and support.

They have helped me take my career to the next level by pushing me to be creative and think outside the box. I am truly grateful for all that they have done for me.

I am also thankful for all the friends that I have made along the way. Especially, Rocharder DJ’s and Atlanta DJ Zone. They have all contributed to my success in some way, shape or form. I would not be where I am today without their love and support.
