We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Rhane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my family, friends, & my significant other. I can’t forget about everyone that supported me and my brand. The motivation they give is everything for me and my craft because it keeps that fire behind my passion for DJing. Promote yourself even when it’s only you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Djing is an art to me. I love how I make people feel or experience with the music that I provide to them. I’m most proud of how far I came along with my dj skills. It wasn’t an easy journey, but I stuck with it and I would say my blending and playing for my crowd is important to me. I started DJing when I was in college at The Fort Valley State University & I never looked back. DJ Swin taught me how to DJ and make it my own. It started off rough because I was shy and doubted my skills at times, but thanks to my close friends, they helped me reach my potential with their support & positivity. Practice, practice, practice. You should always want to perfect your craft. I take pride in my blending because I love how different instrumentals switch the vibe and causes people to feel the music more.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m in Valdosta, Ga, so I got to take you straight to Big NIck’s. Best soul-food/bbq joint in town. Their Soul rolls and Mac & cheese are delicious. I can go on and on, but shoutout to Big Nicks and the crew. Oh yea, D’Truth Nightclub with their Trick off wings and one time for the Amvets. Can’t forget about Krave & Sip Blues & Jazz Lounge.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, I want to give thanks to my brother from another mother DJ Swin & my mentor/radio mom, Ms. Ellis a.k.a Mama Mia. They both has been a vital part behind me becoming DJ Rhane. Got to thank my family and best friends, It really is too many to name lol, but I also want to thank my significant other, who also DJ too. My DJ & radio family of course, and my fans. They all were with the #UAAGHHH (got to hear my DJ drop) movement since day 1. I LOVE Y’ALL!
