We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ MVRCOO and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business comes from the passion I have with the things I grew up liking, wanting & fantasizing about honestly. I like to say “God is in control.” Reason being because, starting a business is new, anything new that you are doing will come with some type of adversity being the fact that it’s something you’ve never done before, it’s new. Growing up, I was self employed before I ever worked for anyone. After working my first & second job I compared the pros & cons of being an entrepreneur & having a regular job. My findings propelled me to the place I am today.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an official radio DJ for Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5 & owner of YOUNGBULL clothing company. I take joy in the things I do. Entrepreneurship is something I just love, your success depicts your own work ethic. After high school I had a talk with myself and I listed all of my talent’s, my gift’s , and my abilities. I figured whichever one can make me a profit, I will pursue it. Dj-ing started off very small from house get togethers all the way up to the radio. My journey, I can honestly say, wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t hard at the same time. My journey was a fun process although very tedious. I learned about real consistency and perseverance, and I believe those tools along with me knowing exactly what I wanted, made my journey more so Challenging then hard. Consistency is key, although cliché, this may be my favorite quote for businesses of any kind. I want the world to know that I was a kid with not too many options but made a way for myself & everyone one around me . Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s a ton of people to say thank you too honestly. The person I’m choosing to say thank you too, right now, happens to be my brother, better known as DJ VQUE. Without seeing his success in the field of DJ-ing, it’s safe to say I wouldn’t have tried that route, at least so soon. DJ VQUE was the first person to show me the lifestyle of a DJ. He got me started with my journey along side a couple of great people I’ve met in my life. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t mention those people. So, thank you Thomas Washington for always being there, thank you Ferrari Simmons for believing and seeing what you see in me, thank you Solo for taking a chance on the kid, thank you Moses the OG, etc.
