We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Lady Trey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ Lady, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I always wanted to build a foundation where my offsprings can benefit from. Starting my whole TreyCan Productions ie: TreyCanRadio and TreyCanRecordz will give me some financial help in the future therefore allowing me to save for my children’s future. I love being in the entertainment industry as a female dj, radio founder, radio host, record producer and entertainer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started DJing 3 years ago, I started by promoting upcoming artists. Then after 1 year I started being a radio host on Red Alert Radio based in USA. Then a year after that I added another radio slot to my resume on My Turn Radio an All Female DJ Radio Station. I liked being a radio host but I felt like I needed my own platform, so I did some research and found out about Zeno. A free online radio platform that offers the possibility to have my own radio station. I jumped at the opportunity. It wasn’t easy because I was doubting myself at first until I realized that my team and I were ready, they actually encouraged me to do my own thing. The lessons I learned along the way is to stay focused and it’s ok if you need a break from social media to regain clarity and sometimes sanity, lol. I want the world to know that if I can do it so can you. If you want something go for it, work hard at it and know that it’s yours. Empower yourself because you are great. Don’t let nobody say you can’t do something. Prove them wrong.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to a Jamaican Restaurant or A Pizzeria. I would then take her to a club that I DJ at and introduce her to some ppl.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes I want to shout out all the females DJ’s in the world. I want to say thank to all my supporters. I want to shout out my team: G.MG. Production, CanJam Muzik, Buffie Entertainment, Betty Luv Entertainment, Shanie’s Universe and Demon Productions.
