Meet DJ KC | DJ & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ KC and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Atlanta, Georgia. Being from Atlanta made a big impact on the person I am today mostly in the music aspect because Atlanta is really just the Hollywood for music. I’ve been influenced a lot throughout the different types of music I grew up on so from people like Travis Porter, Waka Flaka, Roscoe Dash, Skooly, and Lloyd to Migos, Future, Young Thug, Lil Baby, there are lots of eras and people that influenced me. With this surrounding me, I felt like it was only right to do music because I was and still am very confident that I’m special and I have a good ear for music.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always felt like music meant more to me than the average person which made me pursue it because I felt like I could give the same feeling that I get. I remember being super young getting a heavy heart and goosebumps from certain songs, so I’ve always really appreciated music more than anything. I believe that appreciation allowed me to be where I am today. Developing as a DJ has had its challenges and I’m really still learning, but for the most part it hasn’t been that hard simply because I continue to prove myself despite my age or my gender. Producing, however, is a lot more difficult because there are are lots of people that do the exact same thing I do waiting for a turn just like I am, What I have learned though is that everything that I put in is what I get out and that’s in life period. The harder you work, the more it pays off, so I am currently trying to put more time and effort into creating better music and getting out there and networking. The goal is to make good music, and I think thats what sets me apart from a lot of other producers simply because a lot of them are looking for money and clout. I have always been true to myself and what I love, so every thing I do is genuine and with meaning.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I do not like going downtown, but if I had to I would probably go to World of Coke, the High Museum, then have a little fun at Andretti’s or Dave and Busters. To eat, I would probably have to look something up because I eat the usual food at Camp Creek. I may find a concert to go to or a festival , but I’m pretty much a homebody otherwise I stay in my community.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shoutout to my brothers that really influenced me and pushed me to do what I love. They always support me and help me get to where I want to be. I also want to shout out my peers because they are my main audience and I wouldn’t be where I am without their support and motivation.
