We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ JUNIE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am Stone Mountain Ga, I attended Redan High School. My friend group in high school was rappers and producers shoutout to I$hwet. They were really a big help because they pushed me to be the DJ I am today and plus My Girl, Headhunters, Fooly, and My Family. I put in a lot of work and had to prove myself that I could do it. Now today I network and try to put out content to show my skills.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I just took a risk to DJ at my hbcu. At the time I wasn’t really known on campus so I had to show the school what I could do. Ever since then I have been networking with other colleges, schools, clubs, and stores. It was really hard because I didn’t record a lot so must of my content I wanted to show I didn’t have until I had got a cameraman to record and take pictures for me. The lessons I learned in the DJ industry is all money isn’t good money and if you don’t have the money upfront don’t go. Now I require you sign a contract before I dj anywhere. I want the world to know that I am a mobile DJ and I do all kinds of events. Contact me for the experience not just a vibe.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would go to Braves game, Hawks Game, and ote game. Places to go would be like Atlantic Station, Odyssey, Aquatic Blu, Cru Lounge, and Opium. I go to Midtown Bowling, Trap Museum, Slingshot, Revery VR Bar. Just some great places to hangout

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a lot of people and organizations that I want to shoutout. I wanna give a big thanks to my girl she definitely was my biggest supporter. Blessed Hope Ministries my church home that gave me the opportunity to dj some of the church outdoor events. Headhunters Club for giving me the first opportunity to show my skills, Talladega College for allowing me to be their official school DJ. Live Live Life Headphones for letting me DJ along with them. I$WET the tribe for pushing me in high school to do this. Lastly, I want to thank my family for supporting me and helping get to where I am today.
