We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Jon Quick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ Jon, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Authenticity and work ethic are the two most important factors behind my success. Also I learned early on that branding is a 24/7job so that means you always gotta be ready for any situation that might arise in your chosen field.  I would be remiss to mention that learning how to establish, maintain and leverage business/professional relationships has been crucial to my success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a world class DJ and radio show/podcast producer. I’m a mastermixer who is currently on two major radio stations in two of the most popular markets in the world when you talk about NYC and Atlanta and I’m also featured on Scratchvision, the online home for some of the world’s most legendary DJs. Was it easy making it this far? No but staying true to what my strengths are very important to me. My musical mixes have the feel of a sonic road trip. They take you all over the road then back home again as if you never left. I pride myself on earning new fans each and every time I play on those tables in person or online. It’s my creative transitions and mastery of multiple genres that set me apart. My AfroFlava Radio show was the first all afrobeat themed  mixshow/countdown in US history featured on a major broadcast radio station.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Still new to the area so I’m probably the last person to ask. I would definitely say anywhere I dj, whether it’s Patio Social Club in Smyrna or Park Tavern or Soigne’ Garden in Atlanta. Also District Atlanta on Wednesday nights. Their Discotheque Party is amazing!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. They taught me the importance of perseverance during life’s journey and how important it is to serve in your community in the most positive way within your means.
