We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ BAD GYRL and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

Easy, I don’t like being told what to do and to avoid being fired from a job I had to start my own business. I have been my own boss for the last 20 years and I like it that way. I don’t see the point in giving my time to a company that could never pay me what I am worth. In my line of work there’s no cap on what you can earn. I pay the cost to be the boss.


Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I’ve been in radio almost nine years and I started my station 22.3 Takeover Vegas Radio four years ago. It is growing every day and I love seeing the additional team members we have now. We also started our sister station 22.3 TakeOver Miami Radio last year. Every day is a new and unique experience. You never know who is going to reach out for advertising, interviews, media, whatever it is. Every day is a different day. Building this business was not easy. That is for sure, but it was certainly worth every headache I have endured over the last four years.

I am so proud of the company I have built and what it stands for. I love the team we have now. Everyone fits and, believe it or not, everyone gets along with each other. It’s definitely a family atmosphere and we all have so much admiration for each other. Our radio family is so close. It’s a beautiful thing.

*We are Guinness World Record Holders as of this year
*The Mayor of Las Vegas gave us a proclamation: May 23rd is 22.3 Takeover Vegas Radio Day & I have my own day as well, February 14th. Those two days mean so much I can’t even tell you.
*We were nominated in two categories for the Best of Las Vegas this year. No other internet radio stations were nominated, so THAT was a huge surprise. I love knowing we are in a league of our own.
*We are live in 195 counties which I believe is the whole world! I mean we wanted to takeover the world and we did that!

I want the world to know we are not going anywhere. We are just getting started. We have so much more to accomplish together and individually. I am just so thankful for all of our fans and supporters. I plan to open four more radio stations across the country. I am on a mission!
