We had the good fortune of connecting with Divinity Divine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Divinity, how do you think about risk?
Risk, to me, is not merely a gamble but an invitation to embrace the unknown. In 2021, I embarked on a solo journey to Africa for six months, a decision that many deemed risky. Questions like “what if” and “how will you” were frequent, but I understood that dwelling on them often hinders us from truly living. For me, this risk was a gateway to profound rewards across my mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. It was a pivotal step in reconnecting with my ancestry, healing, and understanding my life’s purpose.

Through embracing risk, I’ve forged connections across Africa and gained experiences that no amount of formal education could provide. My career, driven by passion and principles, has allowed me to serve my community and inspire others to reach beyond their perceived limitations. While solo travel may seem daunting to many, I see it as my greatest reward, offering unparalleled opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

The real risk in life lies in waking up with regrets, wondering what could have been. Following my intuition, even in the face of uncertainty, has consistently led to life-changing experiences and invaluable lessons. So, I encourage others to weigh the risk of inaction against the potential regrets of missed opportunities. Whether it’s seizing blessings or embracing the lessons learned, every risk taken enriches our journey and deepens our understanding of ourselves.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art stared as me expressing my self through my outward appearance as I thought that was the only thing people really would over stand, trauma will have you confused about your truth and authenticity. I started Divine Kreations 11 which is an African clothing boutique in 2020 as an opportunity to make money so that I could go to Africa for 6 months. I never knew it would involve into the Sankofa Healing Experience me being the cultural curator behind bring beautiful melanated, african descendnat beings together to heal in sacred spaces and address the generational traumas that have plagued us.

Before I left for Africa spirit told me to put on an experience that the people of the 757, where I currently spend most of the year when I’m not traveling. I had been in so many different communities in the 757 and realized that we needed to come together to showcase the different modalities of healing. We venerated our ancestors, had sound bowl healers, vocal tonining, african food, dance and drums; knowledge workshops, of how to reconnect to our ancestors and start the healing process that I knew I would be experiencing in my travels across the Afrikan continent. A day of Sankofa Healing.

Upon my return from the Motherland Spirit assigned me a bigger mission to create an experience that the community could induldge in while it wasnt for 6 months it needed to be for days and there the Sankofa Healing Experience was born, September 2023 during a tropical storm, what Spirit revealed to me later was my own test of truly walking and trusting my my divine alignment. I hosted a three day camp out in Drewyville Virginial were we venerated our ancestors from the motherland as well as gave honor to the life of Nat Turner and the legacy of his spirit still living on those lands.

Now we are planning the Sankofa Healing Experience “The Journey Ahead” exploring different states across Amerikka and abroad . Starting where we began back in 2023. What to expect The REVOLT, an event that celebrates African spirituality, culture, and healing. A soul-stirring adventure honoring the resilience of Black people and the wisdom of our ancestors in each state we touch.

Featuring:
🌳 Hands-On Workshops (Ancestral veneration, panel discussions, arts, dance, hiking, etc)
🌿 Cultural Connection (African foods, music and history)
🌻 Eco-Friendly Crafts (agriculture, survival techniques)
🧘🏽 Healing for All Ages (sound bowls, masterminds circles, sacred circles, etc.)
🎶 Live Performances (fashion, music, showcases)

Sankofa Healing Experience “The Revolt” is a camping experience providing an opportunity for melanated Kings and Queens of all ages to experience healing in the beauty of nature. Held on the ancestral grounds of Nat Turner, our intention to honor the wisdom of our ancestors and uplift the Black community.

Participants will be encouraged to explore the outdoors, engage in meaningful conversations, and participate in activities that draw upon the power of nature and spirit. Our intention is to provide an experience that is both meaningful and transformative.

If its easy I don’t want it. I’ve faced many challenges while creating these sacred and spaces for my community of African descent whether those born to Amerikkka or those that came over from the Mother continent. I want us to recognize the oneness that we have to come back to. That our focus should be first to heal the traumas within our selves while also releasing the programming that colonization has put on our minds. We should be doing this work in communal sustainability. letting the idea go that we do it by ourselves but within our self of community unity.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My first shoutout is my mother. Though I’m sure she would not think i would be shouting her out she has shown not talked about Action. What it looks like to not just talk about it but be about. She has her own story to tell so I won;t and what I will say is even though the traumas of her life were heavy she never stopped. I get my tenacity , will power, persistance, and knowing from her womb and for that Ill forever be her biggest cheerleader. I love you mama

I’d also like to shout out is to my sun and daughter. I was a 15 year old mother to my son and he made me change my perspective of me. Out of him I had to realize my darkness. The generational courses that I had to create so that my family would have the light the strength and the healing that we needed. My daughter made me reconnect to what it was to be a Wombman. To sit in the power of the divinity within me. She jumpstarted my healing journey into the loving warrior wombman I am today. I do what I do to show them that no path is a wrong path, It just your path and only you have control over that, not even I do. I want them to live freely. Only expecting them to be true to their authenticity and freedom of self discovery,

Never forgetting the Ancestors that have my back who guide me , protect me, push me to keep going, and when I want to stop remind me that this is a life long purpose. Those ancestors that came across the Atlantic on boats or sacrificed their lives for the bettermeant of me and those who share Afrikan decent all over this world. Those that walked in the Trail of Tears and love me unconditionally even though I dont know their faces because I know and feel their Spirits,

I’d also like to shout out my ex husband/best friend. His unconditional love and patience in my growing to be a better me has provided support and stability that if i didnt have would have made this journey so much harder. The community, every siStar mother, siStar daughter, brother reflections that has fed and sent great energy to me along this journey to of enlightment and divinity.

Always shouting myself out cuz baby If she didn’t know anything she knew her capabilities and has exceeded what I ever would have thought was possible in these 35 years so far.
