Meet Dionna Thomas | Podcast Host and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dionna Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dionna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my podcast, Choppin It Up with Dionna, because I saw a need for more conversations about mental health and entrepreneurship, especially for teens. Many young people struggle with mental health but don’t always have a space to talk about it. At the same time, entrepreneurship opens doors to financial freedom and opportunities, but not enough teens know where to start. I wanted to create a platform where I could share knowledge, bring on guests to share their experiences, and inspire others to take control of their future. My goal is to grow the podcast across all platforms, improve the quality with better equipment, and eventually turn it into a full business through sponsorships, mentorship, and other resources.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about inspiring and educating young people through my podcast, *Choppin’ It Up with Dionna*. I focus on mental health and entrepreneurship, sharing real experiences and solutions. What sets me apart is that I’m living what I talk about—I understand the struggles firsthand.
I’m proud of the impact my podcast is making and excited to expand my brand with an e-book and a mentorship program. The journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned that consistency, faith, and patience are key. I want the world to know that I’m here to create real change and help young people see their full potential.
