We had the good fortune of connecting with Dion Johnson Sr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dion, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
LawnSpa heavily devotes its energy to giving back to the community through various ways, including partnering with Project Evergreen, an organization that offers free lawn care for military families.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2015, I was working as a campus director of a truck driving school. During that time, I felt like there was something missing. Deep down, I knew that I wanted more for my family and myself. So, my wife and I took a leap of faith and started LawnSpa with only two push lawn mowers.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is filled with civil rights history, so I suggest visiting the Apex Museum, Martin Luther King Jr. Center, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. If you like soul food, I strongly suggest Paschal’s and Busy Bee Cafe.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To my supportive, beautiful, and intelligent Queen Daphne D. Johnson, a.k.a. Queen Shinny: thank you for standing by me through the good and bad days. You wear dual hats and your work behind scenes allows me to devote so much time to our company. I can’t thank you enough for being such a blessing to my life. You’re a great mother and wonderful wife. I honestly don’t know where I’d be without you, and I’m forever grateful that you are my wife. Love you always.
