We had the good fortune of connecting with Dilla Campos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dilla, what is the most important factor behind your success?
the factor most important is that the people know that i am dedicated to the thriving and success of my community, and that this is an obligation for me through life, its not just a job.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My magazine is something i take pride in. The final producit is always something that I am excited to put out. MY magazine is not a newspaper just to give out news, but rather, in instrument of voice and community. It is part of everyones day-to-day lifes and it is meant to keep people aware, guide, and protect people in this country, So we can be a light, and not a weight on it.
A great lesson Ive learned along the way, is that meeting people with different backgrounds, ideologies, and practices, and finding a union in people and common goals and aspiration no matter how different. What Ive learned is that these people are the ones you have the most to learn from and to seak them out without any pre exisiting stereotype or hatred in my heart.
My brand was created exlusivly to maintain my community united and informed. my greatest constant challenge is to collaborating with everyone who interacts with my magazine to continue to grow towards helping other and letting them know that they have a voice. My magazine is for the people.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This has actually happened to me a few times. I love showing people my home and what is around me to explore. I think showing people atlanta is a big thing for me. taking them downtown to underground Atlanta, Ponce City Market, the Aquarium, the Coke-Cola factory, all of that is really fun. Atlanta is a melting pot of culture and people and I think it is also important to experience different foods while were here. going out to restuarants is always a fun time and there are so many places to choose from. Lastly, no tour of my home would be complete without taking them to the brazilian places ofcourse. The food here will take you back all the way to your grandmas house in brazil. Some amazing brazilian restaurants are Passador streak house, Fogo de Chao, and Rio Steak House/Bakery.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
my shoutout would have to be for the brazilian community in atlanta. and I would also have to shoutout my family.
