We had the good fortune of connecting with Dianna (Queen Nola) Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dianna (Queen Nola), how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Being born in New Orleans and growing up in Mississippi I was always fascinated with foods, flavors, and authenticity of homemade meals. I watched my mother cook a lot. My best place in any home was in the kitchen. My passions for cooking and helping others gave me the niche I needed. I started cooking at 9 yrs old and been doing so ever since in which a catering business & a #Cooking4Causes Initiative was birthed. Knowing my purpose helped me find peace. I am truly happy because of it. Doing what I love and loving what I do has become a lifestyle for me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dianna Adams aka Queen Nola(Brand) is a Visionary in her own right. She moved to Georgia in 2013 leaving everything behind to start over due to fleeing a domestic violent marriage. Since the age of 7 yrs old she has always faced traumatic obstacles that would make it easy for one to give up but she never did. Instead she received years of therapy to help her overcome the pain left behind due to enduring emotional, mental, physical, and sexual abuse. There was a time during her life that all she wanted to do was die. Being a teen mother at the time gave her something much more to live for. The struggles, hardships and challenges endured a long the way was unbearable but she kept pushing forward no matter what it looked like. Queen Nola turned her pain into purpose which gave her the fuel she needed to accomplish a lot beyond any adversity or disability sustained in 2008 due to giving birth to her 13 yr old daughter who was born blind because of it. She wears many hats including but not limited to being an entrepreneur of multiple businesses, chef, motivational speaker, life and business coach, author, advocate for many causes, product developer, and so much more. Originally from New Orleans, Queen Nola spent most of her childhood in Natchez, Miss. The mother of three children, two with special needs, has a passion for cooking and helping others grow, develop and discover their purpose. She has given a lot of her time to so many people helping build their brands & businesses as well as coached and provided them the tools needed to cope through traumatic experiences. She is founder of Caring Hands & Hearts Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization that advocates for families and individuals with disabilities and specials needs. She is also owner of Queen Nola’s Catering and Concessions, which also started a #Cooking4Causes initiative to shed light on the foundation’s mission. In addition, Queen Nola has developed her own seasoning line which has soared and became quite popular. She currently resides in Buford, Ga. Recently, October 2021 her biggest dream came true when she got the opportunity to work with Mary J Blige. Queen Nola has been her impersonator since 2004. Most find it amazing that they both look so much alike. Her faith in God and love for her family enable her to keep going and growing. Future projects include but not limited to opening commercial space, owning food truck, and having her seasonings and food products sold in a chain of grocery stores across the country. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, dancing, traveling, spending quality time with her family, volunteering doing community work, cooking, watching movies, meeting new people, helping others, etc.
Motto:
Passion+Purpose=Profits
Do what you love so you can love what you do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God and my children have kept me grounded and making better choices that will aid in pushing my vision forward.
