We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Lovett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The Lord Jesus Christ is responsible for any amount of success I have had with this brand. Through faith that I could be a full-time hair stylist, I had an immense amount of friends and family support me either as clients or simply referring others. From the beginning, establishing genuine relationships with each client have been key to steady success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m simply thankful to be a stylist who is willing to uplift in any way I am able. From one client to the next, I learn more about myself while serving someone else. I, originally, was in the food service industry as a waitress/bartender for almost 10 years in Atlanta. I was eager to leave that field and find purpose elsewhere when the opportunity to do hair was presented to me. I had only known how to do a few protective styles at the time.. but expansion came along the way. From unhappy clients during humble beginnings to life changes while keeping business afloat, there were many challenges in the journey to where I am today. I overcame by staying diligent in practice and keeping content flowing. Through God’s grace, it has all shaped me and contributed to the foundation that I now have with Locs of Love. One of the greatest lessons learned is that dignity and integrity are imperative in entrepreneurship. Keep those to keep business. Above all, I thank the Lord for allowing me this experience. Without Him, I would have none of this to share.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
EAV Thai and Sushi in east atlanta village. Great sushi and basil fried rice! There are quite a few shops and eateries in that community, but this is my favorite. I’d also take them to Sno-Good! Best Snoballs!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my mother (Theresa Lemus) and sister (Bre Adams) for opening doors to facilitate my business when I needed! Special shout out to my mate, Jermaine Green, who has always encouraged and mentored me during the ups and downs!
