We had the good fortune of connecting with Diamond Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diamond Marie, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
Wow, this is a LOADED Question….! 🙂 But if I had to choose ONE thing I would say showing my son to TRUST GOD IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES! Although, we might not have seen something coming….. NOTHING is a surprise to GOD! So, Walk by FAITH and don’t go off of what things look like! GOD IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL!!!!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I was actually persuaded to start my Acting career by a Director in Detroit named T.J. Hemphill. He was doing a StagePlay called “All Men Can’t Be Dogs”! This is where I made my Theatrical Debut! At that point in my life Acting was NOT an interest of mine at all because I was shy 🙂 So the thought of performing LIVE scared me to death! Nonetheless, I worked alongside of some BIG Name Actors who were taking the world by storm, and they are STILL captivating audiences NOW! I had TWO of the SEXIEST & MOST TALENTED men who were playing My Leading Men in this play! They were Samson Logan and Christian Keyes!!!! OMG…I was getting a Crash Course in not only how to Act by these heartthrobs, but to OWN it and show Detroit I DESERVED to be on that stage! It was truly a BLESSING to work with them and the rest of the ALL STAR CAST including Deelishis! I believe what sets me apart from others that I am Most Proud of is the fact that I don’t normally audition for the roles I end up booking! I am normally called and booked off of referrals!!! This is why I give GOD ALL THE GLORY, for its been His Favor over my life that has brought me this far! It has not been easy because I’ve been in 4 car accidents within a 10 year span! I was in a neck brace, back brace, two knee braces, and walked with a cane! This was caused by a hit & run in 2011. I still have pain and use a cane to this day when needed. What I want people to know about me is I am MULTI-TALENTED! I am NOT fixated on just one skill set, and I am tapping into NEW Talents EVERYDAY! I have learned to STOP trying to do things My way and SURRENDER and Let GOD “USE ME” for His Glory! Which is the title of my 1st song I’ve ever written and recorded! This is another gift from GOD that I didn’t see coming! I wanted to be a singer when I was a kid, but gave up on that dream back in 2004 when my son was born. When I moved from Atlanta to LA for his dreams of pursuing his Acting career more seriously last year, I was in EXCRUCIATING pain and begin to cry out to GOD! “What do you want me to do GOD? I know you didn’t bring me all the way out here to just sit in this bed and do NOTHING!” He spoke to me so clearly and said “WRITE! Pick up a pen and WRITE”! That is how my song was created, just writing what was going on in my head and heart. I am GRATEFUL, HUMBLED, and EXCITED to celebrate the release of “USE ME” streaming on ALL platforms this THIS Thanksgiving Season, which is the PERFECT time to GIVE THANKS for ALL GOD is doing in my life!!!! I am very passionate about being a Single Mom, since that has been my life for 18 years! Advocating for other Single moms is crucial to my existence, because I need them to see that if I made it through ALL of the challenges sent to take me out this world, SO CAN THEY!!!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend come in town for a week I would definitely take them to my church, Word of Faith! I LOVE hearing a good word and Bishop Bronner ALWAYS delivers! After church, I would take them to Copelands on Cobb parkway for Brunch. It is delicious and they used to have live entertainment while dining before Covid, but that hasn’t started back yet. I would also make sure to take them to Atlanta Comedy Theater, where every comedian who is anyone has performed! I’m also proud to say that I had the pleasure of performing on that stage as well! I was the Lead in the FIRST EVER Stageplay to grace this comedy theater. The play was called “When A Man Knows”….. From there, I would head across the street to the Karaoke bar where you can rent out rooms of all sizes for your own private party/concert! This is so much fun! I would make sure to hit up Main Event for a day of fun, where we can bowl, play pool, eat good and have fun playing games for all ages. Then head upstairs to the AMC because I Love a good movie! For a night out on the town, we would get dressed and head over to either Monticello ATL, The Bermuda Bar, or Backstage. You can not go wrong with any of these for great food, drinks, and great music! Lastly, I would make sure to go to Alpharetta so they can see The Avalon. It is a great place with lots of restaurants, shopping, and the Regal theatre to watch another good movie!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and Foremost, I give ALL the Glory To GOD! He has kept me, even when I didn’t deserve his grace and mercy! Secondly, my grandparents where very influential in my life before they passed. They are the ones who taught me about God and the importance of family, and traditions. I MISS THEM SO MUCH!! Lastly, my church family Word of Faith in Atlanta, GA which is lead by Bishop Dale C. Bronner. He is Truly ANOINTED by GOD! It is here where they gave me the mentorship and confidence I needed to share my testimony to help others. I have been Facilitating my own groups with exceptional leaders guiding me and praying with me for over 3 years now! I use my platform to EMPOWER WOMEN!! 🙂 My 1st year, I created the S-MOB, which stands for Single Mom’s of Boys. My 2nd year, I created Single Mom’s United because I had a huge interest from mom’s who also had daughters! This year, I created Wonder Women of God for ALL women!! So no matter if you are single, married, young, old, have children or not, YOU ARE WELCOME!! I have been so BLESSED being a part of this spiritual family and I look forward to what’s to come in the future!
