We had the good fortune of connecting with Dewond Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dewond, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is trusting GOD and having a loving wife & children who love & support my art & creativity , They believe in me and they believe in THE BRAND.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well first people know me as a recording by my stage name Russian Rullet being from Inglewood California . Back home before moving to Atlanta i made a name for myself musically making it into One West magazine and from the music buzz created in the streets having my very first Mtv2 interview . Later on in 2015 i moved to Atlanta Georgia to start building my buzz here performing at the well known Sweet Auburn Music Festival and doing radio interviews to promote upcoming projects . I soon invested in a camera to actually get footage of myself when i did not have anyone with me to do so and quickly that changed for the good .

Soon after investing in a camera people would see me with it and ask if i was a photographer and i said no of course until they started offering money and soon after that led to me getting a logo created by my good friend S.Dot Kaine and from there Bet On Black Photography was created . Soon after that polishing my skills around the city of Atlanta my good friend Yusuf Muhammad put me in the position to cover what would become huge and a game changer for me as a photographer i was blessed to cover Keisha Lance Bottoms during her run-off between Mary Norwood and i covered Keisha all the way up until she became the 60th mayor of Atlanta GA . Within that campaign i was able to capture awesome pictures of united states senator Cory Booker as well as now Vice President Kamala Harris so trusting GOD and his timing paid off .

No it was never easy for me it took hard work and dedication and if you fall down if you not dead just get right back up Inglewood taught me that , I owe my success to GOD my beautiful wife Jermeka Louis & my children , my boys Isaiah , Areon & Ayden as well as my beautiful daughter Aaniyah . With family love and support i am able to keep pushing myself musically , building my brand with photography and recently me and my wife created a clothing line Radiating Brilliance Clothing to highlight black love and black positivity .

I want the world to know from me my brand you get creativity & originality , I do not believe great minds think alike we think different and thats what makes us unique . Our goal and mission is to tell the other side of the story never follow trends and tell the truth musically , Photography wise and with our clothing .

Lessons ive learned is a wise man once said nothing at all he listened , Never box yourself in and always have a open mind to learn something new .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Buckhead and I’d take them to Pappadeaux sea food kitchen for steak and drinks , I’d hang out at the Beltline or go to all the spots on Edgewood for bars and fun hang out spots its tons to do in Atlanta I love it here

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to Shoutout my beautiful wife Jermeka Louis & my amazing children , My son’s Areon , Isaiah , Ayden & my beautiful daughter Aaniyah . My family is everything and keeps me focused & on path
