We had the good fortune of connecting with Dewayne Baisden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dewayne, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
Well I’m very from a small city called Albany Georgia. Small city full of people with a lot of big dreams. I give credit to Albany for being the individual I am today. Not having much to do in a small town, you have to be creative and think BIG. Everyday growing up seeing my surrounding I knew I wanted much more and I was going to work hard til I got it. Coming from a small town, you kind of get counted out from the jump so I had to make sure whatever I did I had to make sure I stood out. So to me it’s like a religion to let people know where I’m from and what made me. The 229!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the owner and host of my own podcast. Grindflu podcast. What I am most proud about is just watching something that I created up in my head come to life. Also just being able to give my point of view on different topics and giving everyday hustlers a voice. Podcasting is most definitely not easy, trying to get grown people to listen to you is not easy. And even getting people to support you isn’t easy but I love for the GRIND. I love a challenge. What I do to over come the challenge is pray and continue to push, you have to become a monster and have tunnel vision to all the haters and distractions around you. You have to be built for this.. One main lesson I learned is to always give your energy to the people that support you don’t worry about the people who don’t. What I want the world to know about my brand and my podcast is that it’s very authentic and grindflu podcast is up next to be one of the best Podcast to be created especially with the help from the supporters and the love that they continue to show.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my people was to visit me in the city, I would probably take them to the trap museum. Being that music played a major role for me growing up, I love the atmosphere of what the trap museum brings for the City of Atlanta. If they was coming down to the home turf we have to pull up the sand trap. I don’t even go out for real but I feel like that’s a must and I have to put them on the wing spots.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I have to shout out God and Jesus Christ because with out them I am nothing. My mother and father for keeping me grounded and to become built to last to anything. And also my family my girlfriend and daughter. They don’t even realize they my energy kit. And also to my homies and true supporters the people that truly want to see me win no matter what it is.
