We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Tinajherrio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Destiny, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I come from a big, close nit family full of talented men and women. Almost all of the women & men in my family either have some type of talent working with their hands or they can sing. I even have a few cousins and even a few siblings that has released some dope rap records as well.

Growing up I dealt with depression and anxiety a lot of my life so writing out my feelings was something that would help me articulate what I’m trying to get out in a cool calm and collected manner rather than being irate and lashing out. Writing was, IS and I believe always will be a sense of therapy for me.

I grew up in the church with my grandmother, so singing has always been a part of my life…even my grandma sang tenor in the mass choir.
I was in the choir from a child until I moved away and even in school I was in chorus. I’ve been writing music and sketching out my own outfits since the age of 7 years old…its just a part of who i am.

I have many different talents… my mother likes to say that I am the Jack of all trades.
I am a singer-songwriter, and I also rap.
I can dance, produce, mix and master music, I can draw really well ,and I have my own clothing line by the name of UGLYKIDDCREW APPAREL at www.uglykiddcrew.com

My motto is: “Good looks don’t equate to good work ethic so establish your hustle and get to the bag.” I was raised to grind, hustle, and to go after what I want.
I was always told that I can do anything that I put my mind to, so music and clothing is what I put my mind to… And 20 years later I’m still doing the same thing.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business goes by the name of:

UGLYKIDDCREW APPAREL LLC.

My motto is:
“Good looks don’t equate to good Work Ethics so establish your hustle and get to the bag.”

I started my business back in March of 2017 and it hasn’t been easy first I just jumped in it not even having a clue about the business or even selling online I had no access to regular credit let alone business credit so a lot of the stuff I was doing when I first started I was going broke paying out of pocket for stuff that I could have been getting qualified with other grants and programs for new and small businesses so I lost a lot of money when I first started.
Making sure that you file your taxes for your business as well as all of the important paperwork that you’re supposed to be doing all year round and a host of other things is where a lot of people mess up when starting a business.
Business-wise I got where I am today by creating a street team to help me do a lot of the face to face and door to door marketing work, seeing as though I’m only one person and can’t take on such a big task alone.. Then there’s my the E- COMMERCE TEAM.
The E-com team and myself work closely together on social media marketing and ADS to handle our sales online and generate organic traffic to our company’s website.
Another thing that I learned early on that will probably frustrate a lot of new business owners are the highs and lows and plateau stages that businesses go through. Sometimes you may peek and have a lot of sales other times you may sell little to nothing and other times it’s like you’re selling the same amount so once you get through your head that everyday you might not make a bunch of money…. you’ll be okay.
And lastly what I want the world to know about UGLYKIDDCREW APPAREL is…..
that it is “the hottest brand out right 🔥now) and my motto alone speaks for itself Establish your hustle and get to the bag.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Although I’m more of a homebody…
when I do want to pop out for a good time I feel like all of the rooftops in Atlanta are pretty cool places to go.

It gives you the option of going business casual or date night dressy or even dress down street attire.
The atmosphere be lit , the food be good and I don’t know it’s just always a good time.

If you’re looking for some quiet outside scenery Stone Mountain is a good relaxing place with a lot of different things to do there as well

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
