Hi Dessie, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes, I do.

My Affirmation: I belong here! “My voice is my microphone.” I will use it to inspire, enlighten, train, coach, and help individuals improve their lives.

Every time I’m given an opportunity to speak, I seize that moment and make it count by showing up prepared and ready to deliver.

Let me be honest. There were times when I was invited to certain arenas to speak, I didn’t feel worthy because I had a few brain surgeries in the past. I was afraid of having brain farts. I doubted myself and entertained negative thoughts in my head. When I realized that wasn’t becoming of me, I put myself in check and said, “I belong here.” In that moment, I replaced self doubt with faith. Why, because God equipped and gifted me to do this because I have purpose.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a professional speaker, trainer, presenter, advocate, and consultant. In addition, I also help people with health challenges start fundraisers to offset costs associated with their upcoming surgeries.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d like to suggest two spots for breakfast and brunch. I recommend Snooze, An AM Eatery or First Watch. The food is delightful! Trust me!

They both gave me advice when I was preparing to launch my business. Many times, people are afraid you will be in direct competition with them, so they won’t follow up with you. I was impressed with how Mike and Shondia helped me. It meant so much to me.
