Hi Desirai, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Love your hair and it will love you back!
This quote means the most to me and I tell it to all of my clients. By loving on your hair, I am referring to eating right, drinking your water, protective styles, using products that work best for you, or even just having someone else love on your hair for you. When you take the time to show your hair the love and care it needs you will see RESULTS! Whether that’s length, thickness, moisture, elasticity, or whatever change you are looking to make you can achieve it if you just take the time out to love on your hair.
What should our readers know about your business?
D’Luxe Studios is all about beauty! Here at D’Luxe Studios, we pride ourselves in making you become the best you. Our signature services are Microlinks and Extensions but we also offer Silk Presses, Natural Hair, and Wax services as well. Our knowledge of the human body and how it relates to your hair along with our customer service sets us apart from others as we continuously go the extra mile for our clients. From late night/early morning appointments to making sure each client gets home safely after their appointment, to what foods can cause your scalp to flake and what essential oil with help with an issue you may be having. We take pride in knowing what will best benefit our clients. When it comes to owning a business, it is not as easy as it seems. It has taken tireless nights of doing hair and waxes in my mom’s living room also a lot of patience and resilience to get to where I am today. Also, needless to say, transitioning to a traveling stylist has been quite the journey. Although it may be tough, I always have my mom and friends to lean on to overcome the challenges that come with owning a business. They always tell me to trust God and trust the process and they are always right! I have learned to be successful you have to take risks (which isn’t my favorite thing to do) but if you don’t take the risk you may not broaden your audience or reap the reward. I also want the world to know D’Luxe Studios is heavily involved in giving back to the community. Once a month we are partnering with our Mentor at an elementary school providing hair services to underprivileged children. We take a lot of pride in giving children the opportunity to look and feel their best!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When my best friend comes to visit we LOVE to brunch and lately my go-to has been Lily’s Restaurant. Their chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits have been my faves and you cannot forget the hookah and mimosas! Next for some fun and a taste of Atlanta culture, I would probably take her to the Trap Museum since we have so much love for trap music. For dinner, we love a good vibe so we would have to go to Apt4B. the music the service and the decor are something I have to let her see! Lastly, to end off our night right we have to go to Allure to turn up!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank my family and friends for always being so supportive of me. Through every trial and tribulation, my “village” ( thats what I like to call them) is always there. 2022 has tested my faith but my team has constantly pushed me to keep my head up, stay focused, and trust in God. They never let me be sad for long and they always remind me I will be successful.
