We had the good fortune of connecting with Deshon Everette and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Deshon, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want my legacy to be about my persevearance and determination. I want people to remember that i always stayed true to myself and money or fame didn’t change my beliefs or anything about me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an artist and song writer specializing in hip hop, rap, RnB, and pop genres. What sets me apart is my versatility in my music. I can cater to different audiences and styles with ease. I am most excited for the continued development of my song writing as i hope to have a platinum record one day wether its my own or something i wrote for someone else. It took long nights and a lot of hours to get where i am now and i still have ways to go thats what makes the challenge appealing because it seems to never end. Trying to be a professional in any industry is never easy but you have to stick to your gut, make some tough decisions and just stay the course. I have learned many lessons throughout my journey and i think one of the biggest is patience. You have to be patient and rushing things usually doesn’t turn out well for the artist or the consumer. I want the world to know that when it comes to RealDeshon your always going to get just that; Real and authentic tales from me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to some river spots here alongside the Hudson River and just hang out. One of my favorite restaurants in my area is called Danny’s which is Puerto Rican and Dominican food but you can taste the love in every bite. Another good place to eat is Shadows on the Hudson which is a more upscale modern style restaurant. Of course after that a trip to the studio in my own apartment would be a great place to vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want everyone to know none of my music career or abilities would be possible without Rontay Bynum aka Ronald Taylor. My older brother is the one who inspired me to even pick up a pen and has been a mentor for me ever since. Also my wife Savannah Everette played a huge role in my development as well. Her support and constructive criticism has helped me in many ways. There are others who helped me in similar and different ways but those are the main two.
