We had the good fortune of connecting with DeSean Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeSean, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is inevitable when it comes to creativity. Anytime you create something, you’re taking a risk because you never know if someone is going to like it, share it or even buy it. However, it’s those risk brings creativity. Creativity brings innovation. Innovation brings success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
SEAN ANTONIE is more than a brand. It’s a lifestyle built on the motto of “Escape the Ordinary & Live Colorfully”. The interpretation of that is endless so I prefer to let people run with it.

I started this brand in March of 2017 with just 3 graphic tees and since then I have expanded my horizon to anything from handbags to ball gowns. I love fashion and creativity because they’re essentially both one in the same and that is what fuels me to overcome any obstacles thrown at me. I’ve learned that obstacles are just mini lessons to help you prepare for what you were destined to do. God knows everything so he’s not going to send you through anything you can’t get through and I firmly believe that.

When it comes to my brand, I want people to know that nothing I do is average or done with normal ideas and that alone sets me apart from everyone. I don’t create with limits and I don’t create to be famous. I create because I love to and that’s why using unconventional items like LEGO’s and Wood are constantly found in my brand because creativity is supposed to be fun and exciting! I want people to see my brand and raise questions but also admire the thought process behind everything. My brand is my story and my story is worth telling.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first of all we have to hit up American Deli. The one on Cascade Rd near the Kroger or Atlanta’s Best Wings over by Mays High School. As cliché as it may sound, wings are essential to your experience in Atlanta. After that, its pretty much wherever the city takes us. That could be R&B wednesdays at Opium, a stroll in Piedmont park thursday morning and then thrifiting around Little Five Points. Happy Hour Fridays at Fin & Feathers always give and WishATL definitely has all the heat ready for your feet Saturday morning. (Lol, that sounded like a commercial line.) To top it all of Sunday brunch at Dipped & Butter and Sunday Funday at 10th piedmont is definitely how you end it off.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There’s actally a few people that have helped me on this journey including Tré of UntitledbyTre, K’la of PositiveImpactATL, Chelsey of XO Media & Design, Shadé of Exclusive Impulse, Hamp of HairHustla & PowerProductions, and Arman of Toussaint Design & Decor. All of these people have played a major role in my success and this is my way of saying thank you.
