Meet DeQuana Ellis | She-O of BodiedXNature

We had the good fortune of connecting with DeQuana Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DeQuana, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel as a woman of color in my early 30’s that the most important factor behind my success is determination! I am one determined woman because I know what failure feels and looks like and I’m not fond of it. I come from a single-parent home and I saw what determination was able to produce from an early age. My determination has bled into my business because I strive to continue to learn and improve it. I spend hours researching weekly, on how to perfect my craft. BodiedXNature is determined to be a billion-dollar business and we will.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started BodiedXNature in 2020 because I was having trouble finding quality natural skincare products. I knew I wasn’t the only one searching for great skincare items and I wanted to make the search a little easier, for my fellow searchers. Our skin is our largest organ and we must nurture it. What sets us apart from other brands is we pride ourselves on our quality ingredients. We ensure all of our products are made with positive intentions in mind. Because we believe in passing on positivity in the world and we see skincare as a form of self-care & self-love.
We got where we are today by determination and quality improvement. I believe in growth, and we must grow as we go to better ourselves. I apply that ideology to BodiedXNature because I see what it has the power to be.
As a She-O I have learned a lot of lessons along the way but the utmost important one is time management. Time management is key when you are a full-time employee and an entrepreneur. I’ve found writing down my tasks to be extremely helpful. I also tend to time myself when I’m creating content so I don’t overspend time on something. It also helps me grow because I become more proficient in creating.
I want the world to know BodiedXNature was created by a woman with just a desire to offer quality natural skincare to the world and who genuinely loves creating the products. BodiedXNature is expanding daily and we look forward to becoming a household name!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely suggest checking out Copeland’s and Slutty Vegan! Also if you love immersing yourself in various culinary items check out the DeKalb World Market.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out to my sisters/fellow entrepreneurs. They believed in me and gave me creative criticism along the way. They were the ping to my pong. They always listened and encouraged if in moments of self-doubt. Without my sisters, I don’t know if I would have worked as hard as did to get BodiedXNature started. They constantly keep me motivated!
