We had the good fortune of connecting with Dequan Starnes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dequan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve diversified myself in many different careers from maintenance work to the manufacturing business all the way to corporate America. And one of the things I realized is that no matter what field of work I was in I always had to answer to a supervisor or a manager. So for me starting my own business was critical because I like to move and operate things my way. So self-employment has always been the end goal because I simply have always desired to be the man in charge. I’ve been natural born leader and being able to build a brand and employ my family members is valuable to me one of the most important tasks in life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I personally would love to shout out George Hughes of Monroe North Carolina for taking me in and allowing me the opportunity to be exposed to the possibilities of what I could become. Also a major shout out to Tiny Hailey CEO of Mo Tiny Management & executive producer of tv show Growing up hip-hop for coaching me and guiding me through every single step in the development stages and growth of our business. Lastly I will shout out Ulunda Baker CEO of Serve Unity outreach as well as the author of High School No Fool Jamil Massey and author of It Had to happen but it couldn’t kill me James Robinson for the constant belief in our mission and sticking by our side in the beginning stages as we continue to grow and develop.
